Last year at BlizzCon, Blizzard finally gave the fans what they wanted by finally revealing Diablo 4. The reveal trailer showed a gruesome summon ritual, which resulted in the reappearance of Lilith, daughter of Mephisto and a key character in the franchise's lore. While the Prime Evils have not been shown in any way, for now, it appears that Lilith will be the primary antagonist facing players this time around.

In addition to the story, the Diablo 4 also revealed a number of key gameplay components including a return to the dark tone set by the original games in the series. Naturally, players will be able to customize their character, though only three of the expected five classes have been shown off so far. At this point, players will be able to pick from the melee heavy Barbarian, the magic focused Sorceress, and the master of the elements in the Druid.

Even though there's still a lot of details fans don't know about Diablo 4, including the full roster of playable classes, Blizzard has revealed a few tidbits of information. Here are all of the announced class ultimate abilities revealed so far.

Diablo 4 Druid

Best described as a hybrid between the Barbarian and Sorceress, the Druid summons power from nature while also being able to dish out damage through shapeshifting or summoning companion animals like wolves. Ultimate abilities for the Druid tap into these key characteristics to not only provide big damage, but are also great options for crowd control as well.

Here are the three ultimate abilities Blizzard has already revealed for the Druid:

  • Cataclysm - Summon a massive storm that follows the Druid for several seconds. Tornadoes cause knockback and lightning strikes heavily damage hit enemies.
  • Grizzly Rage - Turns the Druid into a Werebear which gives them access to new skills and the ability to generate spirit faster. Being a Werebear also makes the player Unstoppable.
  • Petrify - All nearby enemies are stunned in place for a few seconds. While damaging an enemy breaks the effect, it also causes additional damage.

Diablo 4 Sorceress

As longtime players would expect, the Sorceress is all about magic and spellcasting. Typically the glass cannon of the bunch, a character that can deal large amounts of damage while not being able to take too much in return, this class excels at long range as long as they have mana to spend on spells. Ice, Lightning, and Fire are her main elements of choice and as such, her Ultimate abilities follow suit.

Here are the three ultimates Blizzard have revealed so far:

  • Deep Freeze - Envelops the player in ice, making them immune to damage for a few seconds. During this time, ice waves deal damage and freeze enemies for a longer period of time than normal.
  • Inferno - Summon a wave of fire that pulses in and out of a target area, causing significant burn damage to enemies trapped inside it.
  • Conduit - Become immune to damage, shock all nearby enemies, and warp quickly between locations.

Diablo 4 Barbarian

Being the frontline fighter of the trio, players can expect to always be in the thick of battle as a barbarian. As such, many of the skills and abilities players will be able to pick from revolve around damaging groups of enemies quickly as well as buffing themselves and allies. Naturally, its ultimate abilities follow suit in this regard.

Here are the three ultimate moves Blizzard has revealed so far:

  • Wrath of the Berserker - Activating it causes the player to go berserk for a few seconds increasing stats and effects. As the player generates Fury, the effects are increased even further.
  • Call of the Ancients - One of the more obscurely defined skills, using this ultimate calls upon the ancients to aid the player in battle for a few seconds.
  • Iron Maelstrom - The barbarian whirls their weapon around them on a chain, continually dealing damage in 360 degrees around them.

Diablo 4 is in development for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
