Diablo fans waiting for more news regarding Diablo 4 can make the time go by a little easier with Diablo 3's latest season. Season 21 of Diablo 3, the Trials of Tempests, has officially begun. Players can download the game right now and check out Season 21 with all of its changes and additions.

The biggest addition in Season 21 is two new gear sets, one for Necromancer and one for Demon Hunter. The new Necromancer set empowers the class's Simulacrums, while the Demon Hunter's set is built around their Bolas ability. Each set, once acquired, should allow for even experienced players to play Diablo 3 in perhaps an entirely new and exciting way.

Diablo 3 Season 21 also spices up gameplay in a unique way, like each season does. Befitting the name Trials of Tempests, during Season 21 players will randomly cast an elemental spell every 90 seconds. Spells include calling down meteors, lighting breath, or summoning a wall of flame. The extra damage may just make or break a Great Rift run.

Season 21 also brings with it unique rewards. By completing Season 21's Journey, players can earn a brand new Stupendous Contraption pet, as well as an Industrial Portrait Frame. Season 21 is also bringing back the rewards of Season 9 so players can earn them once more, including the adorable pet Rocky.

If Season 21 of Diablo 3 is anything like other recent seasons, it should last at least 3 months. That's plenty of time for players to max their characters out and earn this season's rewards. And, better yet, it'll bring us 3 months closer to the launch of Diablo 4.

Diablo 3 is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
