Diablo 4's ongoing development is the focus of many ARPG fans, but Blizzard remains dedicated to supporting Diablo 3 in the meantime. Season 21 is going to be starting soon, so Blizzard's gone ahead and detailed the upcoming season's unique traits and rewards. Diablo 3 players will be able to experience it for themselves starting July 3.

Season 21 in Diablo 3 will be named the Trials of Tempest, and with good reason. In Diablo 3's new season, characters will be empowered with a strange elemental energy. Every 90 seconds, the character will channel this power to unleash one of six different spells. The six effects include raining meteors meteors down, breathing lightning, summoning a wall of flame, releasing small twisters of wind, or rolling gigantic snowballs.

For Season 21, like the previous 4 seasons, Blizzard is offering rewards previously available. The repeated season rewards are those from Season 9, though to be exclusive to the early 2017 season. They include the chest pieces and gloves of the Conquerer set, portraits based on Pandemonium, and Rocky the pet. A couple of new End of Journey rewards will also be available for players who complete Season 21's Season Journey, including the Stupendous Contraption pet and the Industrial Portrait Frame.

Season 21 will be an especially fun one for both Demon Hunters and Necromancers, as Blizzard will be introducing a new set for each class. The Gears of Dreadlands should make Bolas a competitive skill for Demon Hunters, while Necromancers can wield the Masquerade of the Burning Carnival to empower their Simulacrums an incredible amount.

Even with Diablo 4 on the horizon, Diablo 3 will continue to receive meaningful support for the foreseeable future. It should prove more than enough to keep Diablo fans captivated until the sequel's ever-approaching release date.

Diablo 3 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
