YouTube user Rumiah is not happy with the direction Blizzard is taking Diablo 3 and who could blame him? Dedicated fans have waited over a decade for the next Diablo game and what they got was an (arguably) incomplete game loaded with anti-consumer DRM and an auction house designed to help Blizzard even more money from digital transactions via the controversial real money auction house - because having the fastest-selling PC game of all-time isn't enough.
Rumiah likes to make Diablo 3 videos and according to him, there's not too much to make videos on anymore (because the game is too short?) but he's always game to showcase videos on interesting in-game finds, in this case an exploit that allows Wizard characters to become invincible.
The exploit/bug appeared on the official Blizzard forums not long after the video and other streams showcased it working in-game, and Blizzard edited the original forum post to hide the exploit instructions from players as they attempted to fix the game-breaking bug. The exploit still works as of the time of this writing, meaning a lot of players have been able to take advantage of the exploit and hence, could play hardcore, earn more rare loot and thus, affect the game's economy, at least slightly.
- Select Teleport - Fracture. Bind it to a key
- Select Archon, tested with Improved Archon
- Hover your mouse over or near your character
- Press Teleport
- QUICKLY(!) Press Archon
Have you or your online allies found any in-game bugs and exploits?
Twitch streamer Chango99 also posted a video of him using the exploit and, like Rumiah above, isn't a big fan of the direction Blizzard took Diablo 3 in, labeling it as "broken."
For more on Diablo 3, read why Blizzard still defends the always-online requirement, while at the same time admitting to lack of end-game content.
We're going to go check again to see if this has been fixed and will update accordingly.
