Diablo 3 Collector's Edition Details

Barring another few delays, Blizzard should be releasing Diablo III within the next few months. Fans have been waiting over a decade for the successor of Diablo II to release and just like with StarCraft 2 and its expansions, they're taking their sweet time to ensure quality control and the best possible balancing.

After a series of delays, including one last week during Activisions Blizzard's earnings call which will saw Diablo III pushed to Q2 2012, we don't expect to have to wait much longer. Fan anticipation has already seen the Diablo III Collector's Edition sell out on Amazon, GameStop and other North American retailers and now it's available for pre-order in the UK.

The contents of the Diablo 3 collector's set were unveiled back in October, revealing a rather impressive looking package which includes a skull of Diablo, alongside the standard set of contents found in similar special edition releases. The UK outlet GAME has posted the pre-order bundle on their site, along with details of Collector's Edition's offerings, confirming that the European release contains the same content.

Diablo 3 Collector's Edition Contents

Diablo III Collectors Edition Includes:

  • Diablo III PC/Mac Game
  • Behind the scenes DVD and Blu-Ray Two Disc Set
  • Collectors Edition Soundtrack
  • The Art of Diablo III
  • Diablo Skull and 4GB USB Soulstone

Exclusive In-Game Content

  • Diablo III Aesthetic Artifacts
  • World of Warcraft pet
  • Starcraft II Battlenet Portraits

Selling out without a release date is just another example of Blizzard's power over the gaming community. That's why they can take their sweet time with their games to ensure they're the best of the best, that's why there are over 10 million players paying to play World of Warcraft and that's why Diablo 3 is pre-selling like hot cakes.

We know they're very limited but we hope Activision and Blizzard will have more available for retailers as we approach the illusive release date. If you're excited for this game, be sure to check out the Diablo 3 opening cinematic and read the latest on the changes in the game being made to avoid further delays.
