Search for Cain is a quest in Diablo 2: Resurrected that players will undertake quite early in their playthroughs. It begins by instructing fans to find the Tree of Inifuss in the Dark Wood, a location that can be reached by way of the Underground Passage. However, some players may be unclear about exactly where to look for this Underground Passage in Diablo 2: Resurrected, and this guide is here to shine some light on the matter.
Diablo 2: Resurrected - Underground Passage Location
To get right to it, the entrance to the Underground Passage can be found in Stony Field, though its precise position will vary from player to player. Indeed, the maps in Diablo 2: Resurrected are randomly generated, which means that there is no single location where the Underground Passage is situated. As such, fans will simply need to wander around Stony Field until they come across the entrance.
For those players that have not yet visited Stony Field, it can be accessed through the Cold Plains map. Fans that are travelling to this location for the very first time should put a bit of effort toward tracking down its waypoint, as doing so will make return trips to Stony Field much easier. Notably, Diablo 2: Resurrected players will need to make such a return trip before they complete the Search for Cain quest, and finding the waypoint is thus quite pertinent.
Diablo 2: Resurrected - Dark Wood Location
After a classic RPG fan has located the Underground Passage, they should search for the entrance to the Dark Wood on the first floor. During this search, players may come across a path that leads to the Passage’s second floor, and while it can certainly be followed, doing so is not requisite for accessing the Dark Wood. In fact, there is not even an entrance to the Dark Wood on Floor 2, and players may thus want to avoid it for the time being.
Upon arrival in the Dark Wood, fans should wander around until they come across the Tree of Inifuss, and they should then defeat Treehead Woodfist and click on the tree in order to obtain the Scroll of Inifuss. This Scroll should then be taken to Akara in Diablo 2: Resurrected, and she will send players to locate the Cairn Stones. These special Stones can be found in the Stony Field, and fans should teleport there at their convenience.
