Diablo 2: Resurrected is finally here for old fans and new players alike to enjoy the classic ARPG with updated visuals, quality of life improvements, and now on consoles for the first time.
While there have been some changes made from the original isometric-action game, Resurrected actually remains very faithful to the original game. This includes keeping some issues, like the Diablo 2 next hit always misses bug. How to get the Tomb of Town Portal is also unchanged.
How to Get the Tome of Town Portal
The Tome of Town Portal can be found in Diablo 2: Resurrected the same way it could in the original:
- As loot from chests
- By purchasing it from Merchants
While it is possible to get the Tome from certain chests, it's better to purchase it from Merchants. It doesn't cost very much gold, and can store up to 20 Scrolls of Town Portal. This means players don't have to worry about wasting precious inventory space or item management while having a way to quickly return to the nearest town.
In Act 1, the Tome of Town Portal can be purchased from Akara in the Rogue Encampment. Players can bring up the minimap in the top-right corner of the screen to easily spot her name on it. Akara will also heal players and their mercenary when interacted with, which can save players Health Potions.
After Act 1 the Tome of Town Portal can be bought from any of the magic merchants found in that act's camp.
How to Find the Secret Cow Level in Diablo 2: Resurrected
As well as being an incredibly useful item for quick travelling between areas, the Tome of Town Portal has a secret second use that can spawn the infamous Cow Level. The 3 items players need to do this are:
- Tome of Town Portal
- Wirt's Leg
- Horadric Cube
Wirt's leg is found by looting his corpse when reaching Tristam in Act 1. However, the Horadric Cube in Diablo 2: Resurrected isn't found until the third floor of the Halls of the Dead are reached in Act 2 as part of the "Horadric Staff" quest.
Once everything has been found, transmute a Tome of Town Portal and Wirt's Leg in the Horadric Cube at the Rogue Encampment to open the portal to the secret Cow Level in Diablo 2: Resurrected. It's a good way of building up gold and looking for loot early on in a campaign.
One the Cow King has been killed, players can longer enter this portal anymore, so make sure everything of value has been looted. The level is also a great area to switch to Legacy Mode in Diablo 2: Resurrected to see the old and new graphics of the Hell Bovine and Cow King.
