Diablo 2: Resurrected is a great chance for players unfamiliar with the original to experience one of Blizzard's most beloved games for the first time. However, there are some things that first-timers should know before starting Diablo 2: Resurrected.

First and foremost among these is the fact that Diablo 2: Resurrected is not exactly a short title. Although rogue-like titles and short, multiplayer-focused experiences are more and more common these days, Diablo 2: Resurrected is a remake of an old-school isometric RPG. It takes place over several Acts and they're all distinct, so here's a quick guide to the game's length and Acts.

How Long to Beat Diablo 2: Resurrected

This differs somewhat between platforms and isn't fully fleshed out since Diablo 2: Resurrected is still somewhat new (even though Diablo 2 has been out for years). PC players seem to be finishing the game in around 27 hours, and yes, that is by no means brief. Players should strap in for the long haul with this one. The game takes place over a total of Five Acts, each with a series of quests, mostly optional, that players really should complete. There are good farming spots in each of Diablo 2: Resurrected's Acts, but the quests themselves give some of the best rewards. Here's a brief rundown.

Acts in Diablo 2

Act I

This first act starts small, with quests that get players familiar with the game's mobs of enemies and what makes them hard or easy. The quests aren't too difficult and provide worthwhile, long-term rewards, like having Deckard Cain rescued. The last two, Tools of the Trade and Sisters to the Slaughter, are the toughest.

Act II

Things get trickier here, as enemies get stronger and the confined spaces get smaller. It's recommended that players build up their elemental resistances. The final quest involves finding Tal Rasha's Tomb and caps off with a boss fight considered a wall for new players. Be wary.

Act III

More resistance building and more powerful mobs are the name of the game. There's a good deal of territory here to overcome, and not all of it is necessary to move forward. Expect a lot of magic from opponents.

Act IV

A very short Act when compared to the others. Incidentally, this is where Diablo himself is fought --and it's not an easy battle. The map, one of the worst parts of Diablo 2: Resurrected can get confusing on the second Quest here.

Act V

This is it, the last act of the game. Players must successfully climb a mountain, defeat ancient foes, and face a frankly ridiculous amount of enemies in the game's final level. Good luck.

Diablo 2: Resurrected is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
