Devolver Digital is an American-based video game publisher that specializes in indie titles. While Fall Guys is the publisher's absolute other-worldly breakout game, Devolver Digital has had big successes for years, often in genres very much different from the party multiplayer style of Fall Guys.

Recently Devolver Digital teased its fans with a cryptic tweet about five unannounced upcoming games in 2021. It asked a simple question, which of those five games are fans most excited about. Of course, without knowing what the games are, no one could possibly know. But Devolver Digital has made some excellent games, so there is a great chance that the five unannounced games will be enjoyable.

Without knowing what games are on the way, the only plausible guesses would be sequels. Katana Zero was an excellent game, so making that game into a series would be marvelous for many, as would Ape Out, Gato Roboto, etc. Another Hotline Miami would be difficult to pass up on as well. The comment section of the Twitter post by Devolver Digital is filled with sequel suggestions, as Devolver Digital has published many solid indie titles that haven't yet had sequels.

The 2021 title is very unlikely to be Fall Guys 2, as Fall Guys continues to be a huge hit in 2020. Before Fall Guys, the business model for Devolver Digital had not been the games as a service style model, but that changes quickly, at least for Fall Guys.

Most of the best games from Devolver Digital games are experimental; arguably pieces of art. Gris, The Messenger, and Carrion, for example. While some of them work as titles that deserve sequels, many are one-offs--and that's perfectly okay. It would not at all be surprising if some or all of these five unannounced Devolver Digital games releasing in 2021 are completely unknown, in that they aren't attached to IPs that fans know exist in any way what so ever.
