However, more hardcore players might want to ensure they master the art of demon-slaying. Aside from Dante, others may want to check out Nero and V's unique skill set. For instance, players who want a more dynamic combat style might opt for Nero and his new Devil Breaker tool. Here are some pro tips Nero players can use:

10 Grab Essential Mobility

Before Nero can dish out some pro moves, players need to secure some high-value skills first. While these moves might seem obvious, Nero players may forget to get Air Hike and Wire Snatch very early on. These two skills become essential components for any combo, as they ensure Nero has room to zig-zag across any battlefield.

With Air Hike, Nero can finally make a double jump. Aside from accessing more vertical areas, Nero can use the double jump gap to start new combos or cancel into a dash for sticky situations. Meanwhile, Wire Snatch enables Nero to grab opponents from afar in order to secure hits or begin combos. It's recommended players try securing Wire Snatch 2 immediately, despite its steep cost.

9 Secure Single Targets With Combo B, MAX Act

Nero can use Air Hike to double jump and then grab enemies with Wire Snatch. Afterward, Nero can finish this quick combo with Red Queen's Combo B. Since this skill only needs continuous presses of the Triangle key, Combo B makes a great combo opening against harder opponents such as bosses.

Moreover, activating MAX Act can open Red Queen for massive power boosts. Thanks to MAX Act, pressing the L-button after can attack can instantly charge the Exceed gauge. As such, Nero can easily use Exceed to give his basic and advanced combos a much-needed terrifying attack boost.

8 Jump Cancel Opens Better Combos

Thanks to Jump Cancel, players about to make contact with an enemy can jump to reset their combo. This maneuver makes it easy to cancel attacks in order to dodge, open new combos, or even use other abilities.

For instance, Jump Cancel becomes a great opening for a Calibur Cancel. This basic combo taps into the nature of Calibur as a move, since it forces Nero to make a dash attack followed by a sword swing. If Nero jump cancels after the dash attack and shoots Blue Rose right after to stun the enemy, he has a bit of time to use Calibur and once again perform the cancel.

7 High Roller Opens Aerial Combos

Aside from Combo B, High Roller is perhaps an integral Red Queen move Nero users should master. This easy ground attack launches an enemy in mid-air. Attacking right after this movement will propel Nero forward, enabling him to continue punishing the enemy above the ground.

As players might realize, this move also opens up a ton of opportunities to do mid-air combos. They can finish with a devastating Split or continue their aerial combos with a Roulette Spin.

6 Maximize The Rose

Contrary to Dante's Ebony and Ivory is Nero's trusty Blue Rose. This high-powered revolver gives Nero a ranged edge. Pro-wise, the Blue Rose's default attacks don't really generate Style points. However, its charged shots do boost Nero's Style with decent damage.

Interestingly, Blue Rose is also capable of retaining Style Rank and combos. As such, Nero can use Blue Rose to juggle enemies or attack in between combos to make the most out of their Style Rank. Moreover, he can use Red Queen's Exceed Gauge to dish out pain while charging Blue Rose's heavy attack.

5 Expand The Breakers' Potential

While each Devil Breaker has sweet attack options, pro players would want to consider using them for their utility benefits. For instance, Devil Breakers Overture, Tomboy, and Helter Skelter work best as offensive tools. However, other Devil Breakers expand Nero's mobility. For instance, Gerbera's basic skills let Nero glide around the battlefield. Moreover, he can "ride" Punch Line to punish nearby enemies or slow them down in a time field with Ragtime.

Thanks to Breakaway, Nero can abruptly end any combo and destroy their Devil Breaker for additional damage. This move also automatically switches to the next available Devil Breaker. Interestingly, Nero can Jump Cancel Breakaway as well, meaning he can instantly switch Devil Breakers after he detonates them.

4 Advanced Mobility With Devil Bringer

Thanks to the Devil Bringer, Nero can further enhance his mobility. Aside from being able to grab his enemies, Nero can string combos with his Devil Bringer. For instance, the Bringer Knuckle summons a ghostly arm to continue a combo. However, players can also perform a Calibur Cancel with Devil Bringer. If they time this combo correctly, the Bringer Knuckle Cancel can let Nero switch to the enemy's other side.

Moreover, while the Hold allows Nero to use enemies as shields, it's also a handy suspension move. Canceling a Hold into Caliber Cancels enables Nero to keep enemies suspended in mid-air and wide open for expanded combos.

3 Devil Breakers Secure The Finish

Whenever Nero executes a combo, it's best to finish with a Devil Breaker. Thanks to these Devil Breakers, Nero can add a lot of utility skills and dynamic attacks in combat. For instance, Overture unleashes an electric discharge while Gerbera unleashes an energy beam.

However, Nero can only equip one Devil Breaker at a time, and he has to use them or break them first before using another one. As such, it's highly-recommended for Nero to either Wire Snatch an enemy for a Devil Breaker super, or finish combos with the same Devil Breaker special attack.

2 Avoid Auto Assist

Players who want to practice their pro moves might be tempted to toggle Auto Assist to aid them before taking on higher difficulties. After all, Auto Assist inserts special attacks into combos to establish flow much easier.

However, this feature might be detrimental to a player's learning curve, as they don't get to "feel" the actual commands and combo strings. Auto Assist can interfere with cancels due to their automatic input, so it's best to leave it alone so players can play around much easily.

1 Find Transition Combos

Nero players who want to maximize their style points shouldn't just focus on combos. Instead, they should focus on finding transition combos that they can use to shift from one combo set to the other.

An example of this would be a High Roller followed by an Aerial Combo. Afterwards, Nero can use Payline to deal damage, only to Jump Cancel at the last second. Nero can follow up by repeating another Aerial Combo and a Jump Canceled Payline, or switch to a new combo.
