A couple of days ago, Capcom held a panel at New York Comic Con that featured extended gameplay footage of Devil May Cry 5The publisher and developer also introduced a new weapon that Dante will be able to utilize in the game.

The Devil May Cry 5 panel showcased several new and returning weapons, such as the Faust Hat, which is a new type of weapon that resembles a cowboy hat and gives Dante special abilities that harness Red Orbs to perform attacks such as meteor storms. The hat can also be thrown at an enemy, which will mark them, and will return with even more Red Orbs once the foe is killed. However, the player can lose more Red Orbs if the enemy is not defeated and attacks the player instead.

A few returning weapons were also showcased by Capcom such as the Cerberus that now features new abilities together with its three modes from Devil May Cry 3, and the Barlog. The game will also feature a photo mode that allows players to capture still images while in action. The new mode will let players move the camera freely around the environment, giving them total control over how images are produced.

Last week, Capcom released a 20-minute gameplay trailer of Devil May Cry 5 featuring Dante during the Tokyo Game Show 2018. The footage showcased an assortment of new weapons and a few skills Dante may use at his disposal. The video also gave players a better look at how exploration and puzzle solving will work in the game, and concluded with a boss fight between Dante and a supernatural knight.

With only five months left until release, it seems that Devil May Cry 5 is coming along nicely with the trailers and gameplay previews released so far. However, Capcom revealed a few weeks ago that microtransactions will be present in DMC 5, a decision that seemed to upset some fans that are worried about its overall effect in the game. Of course, given that DMC 5 is still in development, the business model surrounding the microtransaction system may even change once the final version is released next year.

Devil May Cry 5 is slated to release on March 8, 2019, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
