Devil May Cry 5 will share a new gameplay trailer tonight at The Game Awards 2018, confirmed due to the trailer leaking early via the Xbox Portugal Facebook page. The trailer was pulled rather quickly, making it difficult to share, but alongside the trailer is some very exciting news. Today we get an extended Devil May Cry 5 gameplay trailer and tomorrow fans can experience Devil May Cry 5's gameplay for themselves.

According to the trailer, a demo for Devil May Cry 5 will be released on Friday, December 7. There are no official details yet regarding the demo, though some may be shared during or after The Game Awards, there is one important issue worth mentioning - the demo will be Xbox One exclusive. According to the reveal, only the Xbox One will have access to this first Devil May Cry 5 demo, at least initially.

Considering Devil May Cry 5 doesn't launch until March of 2019, a demo being made available so early is surprising. The implication seems to be that Microsoft is paying for an advertising partnership or something along those lines and that an exclusive demo was part of the deal. Considering how amazing the game looked in the leaked trailer, though, this one is going to sting for excited fans without an Xbox.

Without going into detail regarding the leaked trailer itself, which will be better served in its own article once the official trailer is made fully available, it does open up certain opportunities for the demo. Not only were Dante and Nero showed to be playable, but also a third character: V. The skinny, slow-moving character and his raven companion have a variety of unique skills unlike those of the other characters. And with his reveal, the new demo could go in a variety of different directions and allow players to play three unique and different characters.

Expect to find out more about Devil May Cry 5 and its demo during The Game Awards 2018, which starts today at 5:30 pm PT. Download the Devil May Cry 5 demo on Xbox One tomorrow.

Devil May Cry 5 releases March 8 for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
