As it stands, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is one of the most hotly-anticipated cross-platform releases that's set to arrive in the coming months. The title was one of the biggest success stories of E3 2015, with the release of an initial gameplay trailer that showcased the title's stealth-based cyberpunk gameplay. A more in-depth look at the game during the expo also revealed that it builds well upon the successful aspects of its predecessor Deus Ex: Human Revolution, with gameplay that refines rather than innovates.

Since the plaudits received at E3 2015, further details have been released about Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, with signs that developer Eidos Montreal is taking the single player campaign of the title very seriously. Forgoing a multiplayer mode at all, the developer has instead tried to instil a sense of flexibility that was missing from Human Revolution; although bosses cannot be beaten with dialogue, direct violence is not the only option players can take.

There was one question still on the lips of Deus Ex fans, however: when would the game actually see a release? Now, that query has been answered. In an update over on the official PlayStation blog, it has been revealed that Deux Ex: Mankind Divided will finally be released to gamers on 23 February, 2016. However, pre-order customers could receive the game 4 days earlier than expected, as part of a pre-order bonus system dubbed 'Augment Your Pre-Order'.

This customizable pre-order option allows players to choose the pre-order bonuses they wish to receive, including the likes of an extra mission, digital books, and item packs, alongside the day one release of the game. Pre-order customers can choose separate tiers, which will then be unlocked as pre-order quotas are fulfilled. The fifth and final tier will allow pre-order players to receive the game 4 days before its official release date. Further details surrounding this 'augmented' pre-order system are explained in this YouTube upload from the official Deus Ex channel.

The post also revealed the items that will be available in the collector's edition of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. The bonuses available in this edition were chosen as a result of a poll of the franchise's fan base, in a similar fashion to fellow Square Enix stable-mate Just Cause 3. The collector's edition will include a 9" figurine of protagonist Adam Jensen, a 48-page artbook, and a limited edition steelbook for the game.

Fans are bound to be happy to finally have a date to put in their calendars, although Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is going to be up against stiff opposition in February. Mirror's Edge Catalyst is currently set to launch on the same day, whilst XCOM 2 has recently been delayed to February 2016 as well. Square Enix are sure to be hoping that Mankind Divided will prove to be the best option for gamers looking for a February gaming fix.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is set to release on February 23, 2016, for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
