The end of year game flood for 2010 has come to a close and we can start looking forward to 2011. Several big name games that were either delayed from this year or announced for early 2011 releases will hopefully be showing up in the first few months of next year. Crysis 2, F.E.A.R. 3, LittleBigPlanet 2, Killzone 3, and Bulletstorm are just a few of the big names we will be getting our hands on early next year.

One of the games competing with those titles is the highly anticipated game from Square Enix: Deus Ex: Human Revolution. For those of you looking forward to the latest in the Deus Ex series, Square Enix has just announced the special edition and pre-order bonuses you can get your hands on at the game's launch.

Priced at $69.99, gamers can purchase the special edition of the game, labeled the 'Augmented Edition', which will feature:

  • 40-page Artbook
  • Exclusive Bonus DVD: Making Of, Special Trailers, Animated storyboard of CGI trailer and Soundtrack
  • Premium Packaging
  • Motion Graphic Novel
Deus Ex Augmented Editon

For those of you not interested in special editions or art books, Square Enix also revealed some gameplay pre-order bonuses that will be available at certain retailers. Despite the game industries hatred of Gamestop's used game sales we have yet another example of them getting the pre-order bonus you probably are going to want to have. The Gamestop exclusive Explosive Mission Pack features the following items, which you can check out in the below video:

  • An entirely new mission with special cameo appearance of original Deus Ex character
  • Linebacker G-87 multiple shot grenade launcher
  • M-28 Utility Remote-Detonated Explosive Device (UR-DED)
  • Automatic Unlocking Device

Other participating retailers will offer the Tactial Enhancement Pack which includes:

As someone who missed out on the first games in this series, the interesting trailers released for this game have got my interest up. The Blade Runner vibe and art style of the trailers makes this look like could be an interesting diversion from the middle-eastern shooter that seems to populate the genre today. Hopefully, we start seeing some more gameplay footage and it will match the high quality of the cinematics.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is currently listed for release on March 8, 2011 on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. That date is what retailers have listed, but is yet to be confirmed by Square Enix.
