Detroit: Become Human, the futuristic tale of rebellion, has hit a new milestone in sales. This comes just over a month after the game finally hit its release date on the popular digital service, Steam.

Developer Quantic Dream announced in a statement that the overall sales of the game surpassed 5 million, combining the Epic Games Store, PS4, and Steam sales. The release on Steam follows a short tenure of exclusivity on the Epic Games Store,which was part of Epic Games push of exclusive games on the the digital distribution platform. The Steam release marks the third platform thee game has been made available for.

Detroit: Become Human is one of a few games from the developer that saw a release on Steam this year, with both Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls also being brought to the platform. “Launching Detroit: Become Human on Steam has been a delightful experience for us. The response we’re seeing has been incredibly positive, in particular in Asian markets," said Guillaume de Fondaumiere, co-CEO of  Quantic Dream.

A Twitch extension was also released by the developer, pushing community involvement for Twitch streamers. The extension allowed viewers to participate in a play-through of the game with a voting system. Choice being a major mechanic within Detroit: Become Human, participation could lead to completely different routes taken and even character deaths. The extension was used by almost 500 streamers of the game on Twitch and saw a total of over 1.5 million votes cast by participants.

Since Quantic Dream ended its publishing agreement with Sony the developer has stated future games will be multi-platform, though no projects have been announced since Detroit Become Human's original release on PS4.
