Playing as Connor, Kara, and Marcus, Detroit: Become Human takes players through the lives of three different androids, eventually showing how their stories intertwine as the humanoid robots struggle to survive in a world that antagonizes them. Being a Quantic Dream game with a heavy focus on story and narrative themes, many have thought that Detroit: Become Human could make a great TV series or film. While the game is getting an adaptation, it perhaps isn't in the form people may have first expected, as Detroit: Become Human is now becoming a manga.Written by Saruwatari Kazami and drawn by Moto Sumida, Detroit: Become Human Tokyo Stories will be a spinoff from the original game, taking place in Tokyo, Japan, and showing what the attitudes towards androids are like in that city. Unlike Detroit: Become Human, it appears that the manga spinoff may initially show a more positive attitude from humans towards androids, as one has even risen to stardom and become a pop idol.RELATED: Rumor: Quantic Dream Star Wars Game Has Been In the Works for 18 MonthsThis idol, Reina, acts as the main character for Detroit: Become Human Tokyo Stories. While her story begins happily, things apparently won't stay so positive as humans begin to grow concerned that androids are replacing them in the workplace. According to the manga's description, this resulting conflict will eventually lead to a revolution. While it will be interesting to see another story set in the Detroit: Become Human universe, the manga will miss out on some key features from the game. Detroit: Become Human's choices, for example, will be absent.

Even without the choices that many players associate with Detroit: Become Human and Quantic Dream games in general, the studio will still have a hand in the creation of the story. While making a manga spinoff of the game might not make immediate sense to some, considering how well Detroit: Become Human sold, with around 75,000 units going to Japan, it appears that Detroit: Become Human Tokyo Stories will have a good chance of selling well too.

Detroit: Become Human Tokyo Stories isn't the first time a game has had a manga spinoff. One of the most recent Western games to get a manga is Watch Dogs, making its debut in April 2022. Like with Detroit: Become Human Tokyo Stories, Watch Dogs: Tokyo moves the narrative away from the traditional settings of the games and tells a new tale based around Japan's capital city.

Detroit: Become Human is out now for PC, PS4, and PS5.
