It's safe to say that many Pokemon fans are very excited to see the first live-action Pokemon movie Detective Pikachu, starring Ryan Reynolds as the titular Detective Pikachu. The first trailer for the upcoming film showed off some of the live-action versions of the various Pokemon that will be featured in the movie, and now a TV spot has revealed what the fairy-type Pokemon, Snubbull will look like.

The new Detective Pikachu TV spot very briefly shows Snubbull, and it shows the huge pink Pokemon next to Ken Watanabe's Detective Yoshida. In the trailer, Snubbull looks a bit like a bulldog, and appears to be much bigger than it is in the main Pokemon games series. Snubbull is only supposed to be two feet tall, as it is in the games, but the size of the Snubbull's head in this trailer makes it look much taller.

From the brief moment that shows Snubbull and Detective Yoshida in the trailer, it is difficult to deduct exactly what role Snubbull plays in the movie's overall plot, but we can assume that it might either be Detective Yoshida's partner, or possibly a witness to the crime. Snubbull is instantly recognizable though, just as all the other Pokemon that has appeared in the movie's first trailer.

The plot of Detective Pikachu follows the story of a 21-year old boy who teams up with a quirky Pikachu that only he can understand in order to unravel the mystery behind his father's disappearance. The two follow clues throughout Rhyme City, and soon find that there is something much bigger at play that poses a threat to the entire Pokemon universe. Many Pokemon fans are very excited to see a live-action re-imagining of all their favorite Pokemon, and hopefully this film will break the stereotype that most movies based on games are sub-standard.

Detective Pikachu is set to release in theaters on May 10 this year.
