Destruction AllStars may have just come out for PlayStation 5, and now a new update fixes issues with the game. The development team at Lucid Games have posted the patch notes revealing the changes for Destruction AllStars.

A recent entry to the vehicular combat genre, the game sees players smashing cars into each other. With Destruction Allstars launching as a PlayStation Plus free title, it has potential to reach a big audience. However, since release there have been some problems causing turbulence for players. Now Lucid Games is dealing with some of the issues headfirst with a game update.

The initial group of changes looks to relate more to improving the overall experience. These are not necessarily bug fixes, but patches to how Destruction AllStars works. The game will now complete the Weekly Reset on Wednesday at 3 pm UTC. In addition, the rewards for these Weekly Challenges are going to reward AllStar Coins rather than XP. To compensate for this difference, XP can be earned more easily through Daily Challenges. Before the patch, each would give 3,000 XP, but now will reward 25,000.

Like previous Destruction AllStars updates, Lucid Games is also including patches for game issues. The first in the list aims to correct the problems that were preventing successful matchmaking. Groups will be happy to hear that the frequency of separation at the end of a match is going down too. The team is also removing the UI bug that reverts player level. This update also smooths out the experience by preventing crashes from server to client side. Finally, the error message descriptions that could appear should no longer do so.

Destruction AllStars is live service. This means the developers will continue to spruce up the game even after launch. Fortunately, it looks like Lucid Games is planning on supporting the game with more updates. This patch is fairly extensive too, with both gameplay improvements and bug fixes. And for a game that focuses on multiplayer, it is important that matchmaking work correctly. Hopefully this patch and future ones address some of the issues pointed out by Destruction AllStars reviews.

That said, some players may view these updates as insignificant for fixing any problems with the core gameplay. While it sounds like leveling up fast will be possible with the liberal rewards, it might not be enough to hold an audience. Plus, with so many bugs already needing patches, some fans may become skeptical of Lucid Games' ability to maintain a consistent experience. That said, it does seem like the developers are planning on being transparent with updates for Destruction AllStars.
