The new PS5 exclusive, Destruction AllStars, was revealed to the world back in June this year, and is getting more details out before it's release. New information about the game's characters, abilities, and other content have been revealed from the PlayStation Blog.

Earlier this year, the PS5 reveal event showed off the new console as well as the announcement trailer for Destruction AllStars developed by Lucid Games. It gave players a glimpse of the core gameplay, from ramming cars into each other and playing as the fictional superstars. The trailer showed off plenty for players, but now more information has been released by Community Manager George Rule on the PlayStation Blog, who further expands on the game.

On the blog, Rule goes into more detail about the game's core gameplay abilities, main characters, and more details on the exact game modes. He doubled-down on the car combat, explaining how critical it is to the gaming experience as players will be able to choose among a variety of vehicles to drive and slam into each other, best reflected in Lucid's own Twitter screenshots showing cars colliding with each other in epic fashion. Even when the car's wrecked, the game doesn't stop there as players take over as the titular AllStars.

Previously, there wasn't too much information revealed about the AllStars themselves, but the blog provided some more details on them. Rule shows the entire roster of 16 total characters who will have their own histories explored in cinematic videos, not unlike how Overwatch uses origin videos to explore characters old and new. As the AllStars, players will be on-foot using parkour skills to move, collect items, trap players, or even steal an opponent's vehicle as they work up to gain their corresponding character ability and hero vehicle. The blog doesn't provide the full list of the characters' abilities or hero vehicles, which Lucid will release in a future post.

However, it did list a handful of character abilities and hero vehicles for now. It says Shyft can cloak, Ultimo Barricado becomes temporarily invulnerable to attacks, Lupita leaves a trail of fire behind her, and the eccentric Boxtrop creates parcels that either help teammates or explosively damage enemies. The hero vehicles include Hana's "Sabre" that can deploy a blade to slice enemies, Ultimo's car "The Undisputed" has an impenetrable shield, Genesis' car "Callisto" ignites rockets for extra ramming speed, and Tw!nkleR10t's aptly named "Mr. Sparkles" enters "Rampage" to hit harder with each slam. While multiplayer games like Apex Legends adds a new hero every now and then, there are no stated plans to add more characters to the game.

Rule states there will be new modes and features added to the game as part of a free post-launch roadmap to help expand the players' experience with the game. The blog closes with the reveal of the Digital Deluxe Edition which includes a legendary hero and vehicle skin, a Lupita dance emote, 4 Banners and 5 Avatars for player profiles, and 10,000 AllStar currency for more customization. Among the upcoming PS5 exclusives so far, this title intends to provide some car-crashing fun for players this year.

Destruction AllStars launches November 12, 2020 for the PS5.
