The full-blown remake of the PlayStation 2 and Xbox cult-classic, Destroy All Humans! finally has a release date.

The game, originally released by the now-defunct Pandemic in 2005, is now being remade by Black Forest Games in Germany and is being published by THQ Nordic. THQ Nordic scooped up the rights to Destroy All Humans! along with over 23 other THQ titles back in 2013, and then announced last year that it would be remaking Destroy All Humans!

In a new trailer released today, featuring snippets of multiple levels yet to be seen in previously released videos, along with what looks like at least one new enemy type or boss, the game was given a release date of July 28th, 2020.

There are also two special editions of the game releasing on July 28th. The cheaper of the two, the DNA Edition, will retail for $149. This version will feature a statue of protagonist Cryptosporidium 137 using his telekinesis to mess with a cow while hovering over his spaceship, alongside 6 lithographs, all of Crypto’s in-game skins, a squishy stress toy, a keychain and a “premium box,” whatever that means.

The much pricier Crypto-137 Edition will include all of the above goodies, but will be swapping the cow statue for a much larger statue of Crypto looking as cool as ever, and of course, another “premium box.” The Crypto-137 edition also comes with one very strange backpack as an added bonus. The Crypto-137 Edition of the game has a staggeringly high suggested retail price of $399.99.

Those put off by those admittedly high prices will be happy to know that the standard edition of the game will retail at $39.99, a full $20 cheaper than a traditional physical release on consoles. The PC version will retail for $29.99. The game is also coming to Google Stadia for the same price.

THQ Nordic seemed to be testing the viability of a full remake when they released the original version and its 1969-era sequel digitally for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in 2016, so anyone hoping for a proper new entry in the franchise should vote with their wallets when Destroy All Humans! touches down on July 28th.

Destroy All Humans! will be available on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia on April 28th, 2020.
