With the game coming in July later this year, many are wondering just how faithful to the original Destroy All Humans! the remake will be. The THQ Nordic project is, after all, based on an incredibly well-loved cult-classic, with the game easily standing as one of the PlayStation 2's funniest games.

It seems players looking for some hands-on time with the re-imagining of the seminal 2005 classic could be in luck, as Destroy All Humans! is getting a demo over on GOG. The trial of the game will allegedly cover the first level of the original, which saw players land on Turnipseed Farm and terrorize its inhabitants. The level was actually recently the subject of a brief gameplay trailer, which debuted on THQ Nordic's YouTube channel.

According to reports, the demo will take approximately 20 - 30 minutes to complete, clocking in at around 8GB. As fans of the original should know, however, it will likely feature a number of the game's core elements, such as the Zap-O-Matic gun, Crypto's telekinesis, and, of course, access to the game's signature UFO. The level originally saw Crypto kill several farmers, before taking on members of the police force and eventually the military, as his conflict on Turnip Seed Farm grew larger by the second. It will undeniably be a great slice of gameplay that highlights how this new remake of Destroy All Humans! plays, as well as allowing new players to quickly pick up the game's controls.

Interestingly, it also comes with an added bonus challenge mission, so it seems players will get a little something extra on top of this chaotic first level. Naturally, it's fantastic to be able to get hands-on with an upcoming game as exciting as the Destroy All Humans remake, especially with the game not being too far off release. Fans who've never played the original titles are in luck as well, as the original Destroy All Humans! is available with Xbox's Games with Gold for June.

As for the game itself, it seems it's releasing at the best possible time. Remakes are currently seeing a massive resurgence in the gaming scene, with Resident Evil 2, Crash Bandicoot: N'Sane Trilogy, and Spyro Reignited Trilogy finding huge acclaim, while the likes of Mafia and Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 and are seeing significant re-imainings as well. THQ Nordic even has another remake dropping next month, with SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated seeing the classic PlayStation 2 adaptation make its modern-generation return.

Destroy All Humans! will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on July 28, 2020.
