Ever since the original Destroy All Humans! got a remake in 2020, the conversation around the cult classic franchise only seems to have grown among the fanbase. A recent leak suggests that THQ Nordic, the studio behind the series, may be looking to build on this growing interest by bringing in multiplayer elements into Destroy All Humans!.

Although not a critical bestseller, the 2020 title did seem to garner a positive response from longtime fans. The conversation around the franchise amplified further when the remake of Destroy All Humans! was released on Xbox Game Pass last year. Now with the remake of Destroy All Humans! 2 on the way, the future of the series is shaping up to be an interesting one considering how the studio appears to be revitalizing Destroy All Humans!.

In what seems to be an upcoming announcement from THQ Nordic, a leaked listing for Destroy All Humans: Clone Carnage was spotted on the Xbox Store. According to the post, Clone Carnage is a standalone multiplayer DLC that ships with four modes and six maps. It also states that it includes up to four-player multiplayer and split-screen to let players "double the damage" in local two-player. The four modes are listed as Rampage, Armageddon, Race, and Abduction, with each offering its own spin for players.

Destroy All Humans! 2 Reprobed Gameplay 2

The leak follows last year's announcement of the sequel to 2020's remake of Destroy All Humans! under the title Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed. As such, the upcoming remake is to follow a similar approach to the 2020 title where players will take control over the familiar protagonist, Crypto. The trailer offered fans a glimpse of what to expect, complete with open stage settings and a massive visual upgrade. Currently in development, Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed is expected to launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Incidentally, Clone Carnage is listed for Xbox One, which may indicate that the DLC could be cross-platform.

At the moment, it's unclear when the studio will officially share details about Destroy All Humans: Clone Carnage. However, THQ Nordic may potentially have an update at the upcoming Summer Game Fest or at THQ Nordic’s own Summer Gaming Showcase that's scheduled for August 12. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see where the series will go from here following the remake of the 2006 Destroy All Humans! and now, the multiplayer DLC. Time will tell how the series will be received among the fanbase.
