Much like the original sequel, Reprobed is set to build on top of the foundation of the first game and has already released a handful of trailers detailing co-op modes and the massive list of weapons at Crypto’s disposal. Recent previews of Destroy All Humans 2 praise the game’s large-scale destruction mechanics and cathartic gameplay. The only thing left in question ahead of release is the quality of Destroy All Humans 2’s remade locations.
Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed expands the scope of the original game with a globe-trotting set of locations. The original game, and accompanying remake, took place primarily throughout iconic US landmarks satirizing the America of the 1950s. In a new trailer, THQ Nordic gave fans their first look at the lineup of remade locations satirizing real-world cities like San Francisco, London, and Tokyo. Reprobed’s five main areas, Bay City, Albion, Takoshima, Tunguska, and the Solaris moon base, have all received a fresh coat of paint complimented by next-gen graphical effects.
However, a new coat of paint isn’t the only thing coming to the locales in Destroy All Humans 2. Although Black Forest Games has been relatively quiet on the subject, the team has detailed that some areas have been expanded upon for the sequel, like the newly accessible Golden Gate Bridge in Bay City. Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed is also a next-gen exclusive game, likely indicating that the development team might be taking advantage of the new hardware in exciting ways.
So far, THQ Nordic has had great success with its remakes of the Destroy All Humans games. Critics mostly enjoyed the quality and effort put into the first remake, and fans appear quite excited about the upcoming sequel.
