After years of being inactive, 2020 brought fans a remake of 2005's alien invasion parody, Destroy All Humans! The remake received enough positive reception to warrant a sequel, and developer Black Forest Games is back with a remake of the sequel that was released in 2006. With a little under a few weeks until Destroy All Humans! 2: Reprobed launches, the THQ Nordic Showcase debuted a new trailer highlighting the sworn enemies of the Furon Empire, the Blisk.

Destroy All Humans! 2: Reprobed takes everything that made the original great and modernizes it with the power of Unreal Engine 4. Set ten years after the events of the first game, Cryptosporidium embarks on a globetrotting journey after he discovers a sinister plot happening right under his nose. Much like Black Forest Games' first go at the series, Reprobed will be a faithful remake boasting a much-improved gameplay loop with the newest trailer focusing on combat against familiar alien invaders and a love interest of Crypto's.

Deep in enemy territory, Crypto and Pox are caught off guard when they discover the Blisk are on Earth after a previous war with the Blisk seemingly eradicated the species. Rather than make peace, Crypto immediately jumps into action using an array of familiar weapons such as the Disintegrator Ray and the Anal Probe to which the latter weapon has little effect on them per Pox's narration. However, Crypto is determined to take them down despite the weapon and numbers disadvantages he faces.

Much like the protagonist Crypto, the Blisk will be traveling across the globe looking to infect humans and execute their evil plans. The latter end of the trailer focuses on Crypto's globetrotting exploits as the Blisk aren't the only foes he'll face with the KGB and local authorities looking to stop him. Players will need to use all his psychokinetic abilities and will have plenty of opportunities to jump in the iconic flying saucer to rain down havoc in order to conquer all who stand before him.

After years of being inactive, the return of Destroy All Humans! has been a welcome sight for many and a very much appreciated throwback to the early days of gaming. Some previews of Reprobed have been positive, and should this game deliver when its release in the coming days, gamers could see a brand-new adventure for the alien invader protagonist in the future.

Destroy All Humans! 2: Reprobed launches August 30 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
