Destiny 2 players are always eager to find out the details of future content and datamining allows them to do so beforehand. The latest rounds of digging uncovered the rewards for a chain of quests coming later in Season of Arrivals.

With the launch of Beyond Light, Destiny 2 will see a good portion of its content shift into the Destiny Content Vault. This means there is now a time limit on many legacy pieces of loot, at least until the content emerges from the vault. However, some of the stress of getting said items could be alleviated if the datamined information is to be trusted.

The chain of quests in question is called Evacuation. This will take players across the planets Mercury, Mars, Io, and Titan, all of which, along with their associated strikes, will be vaulted in September. At the end of each stage of the questline, the player will speak to a planet's vendor and be rewarded that planet's Nightfall-exclusive weapon. For instance, Brother Vance will award the D.F.A. hand cannon.

This is an intriguing discovery in many ways. All of these weapons are year 1 weapons, meaning they don't have random rolls and don't accept current mods. Fans have been asking for these specific guns to be updated to the current status quo, but they most likely won't be getting random rolls as quests in Destiny 2 aren't repeatable.

This might be more aimed at collectors or those who chase the Wayfarer title, which requires the collection of some of these guns, even though Bungie stated it will update title requirements if it asks players to collect unobtainable items. It is curious that Bungie would re-introduce these guns if they'll simply be sunset a month or two later. Some think the guns might be updated but given static rolls similar to ritual weapons. This would make them more usable and will be fair to all who complete the quest.

Regardless, this is a nice farewell to the soon-to-be vaulted locations and their strikes. It is unlikely many veterans will have a problem with Bungie giving away rare strike-exclusive loot to any who complete the quest because these items have been available for years and aren't relevant. User Celltrigger on Reddit believes this to be a good decision because it will make the vaulting of content less "jarring."

Of course, take all of this with a grain of salt because the quest rewards might reflect an earlier iteration of the quest or be a placeholder. The only other time Bungie gave away activity-specific rewards to those who didn't play them was back in early year 1 when Clan engrams could give Raid and Trials of the Nine loot.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
