It’s E3 weekend, which means that gamers around the globe are anxiously anticipating the new reveals, demos, and trailers that will be released within the next few days. Destiny fans are especially excited because they know that Bungie has some plans for Destiny 2 at the event.
For starters, E3 attendees will be the first of the general public to try out the new Arcstrider Hunter class. But even those not in attendance have something to look forward to, as Activision has confirmed that Bungie will say more about the Destiny 2 open beta that is coming this summer.
In the midst of all the Destiny 2 excitement it’s easy to forget about Destiny 1, which is in the midst of an Iron Banner week. It’s also easy to overlook Xur, who last weekend had a very poor showing in terms of exotic armor and weapons. Still, the Xur train never stops.
This weekend, Destiny players can find Xur in the Eastern wing of the Tower, next to the class vanguards. After spawning in head forward and underneath the overhang, walk around and past Eris Morn, keep going straight past the Crucible vendors, and into the large room with Zavala, Cayde-6, and Ikora Rey. Xur will be on the right hand side along the wall.
Xur’s exotic armor selection this weekend includes the Empyrean Bellicose helmet for Titans, the Crest of Alpha Lupi chest piece for Hunters, and The Stag helmet for Warlocks.
The Titan helmet is probably the most useful of the the three options, if only because it lets players hover in the air while aiming. With that perk active, players can take advantage of the ‘Airborne’ perk in strikes for longer. The Hunter chest is good for fast revives in Trials of Osiris and for making an additional orb, which is a narrow use case but still could be worth spending the strange coins.
What Exotic Weapon Is Xur Selling?
The exotic fusion rifle Telesto is Xur’s weapon for this week – a really fun weapon to use, and a personal favorite on Void Burn or Specialist strikes. Telesto is basically Bungie’s homage to the Needler from Halo, slightly reimagined but with the same type of visual flourish.
Finally or rather disappointingly, Xur has the same exotic weapon bundles from last week: the Monte Carlo auto rifle and its Superspy ornament, and the Red Death pulse rifle and its White Witch ornament.
For a full rundown of Xur’s items and prices see the list below:
- Empyrean Bellicose (Titan Helmet) – 13 Strange Coins
