We have the early scoop on where to find the vendor Xur and what exotic armor and weapons he has available to Destiny players for the weekend of September 9th.

While much of the action in the world of Destiny doesn’t happen until the release of Rise of Iron on the 20th, that hasn’t stopped Bungie from making some changes in preparation for the DLC. This week saw the release of Update 2.4, the first major update as part of Year 3, and one that introduced a ton of changes to weapons, a few to Crucible modes, and a handful to the UI.

Reactions to Update 2.4 have been mostly mixed, with some praising the patch’s changes to auto rifles and mid-impact pulse rifles, while others saw the changes to sniper rifles as a slight towards those who favor long range encounters. Some Destiny players were also surprised that there weren’t more changes included in the update; not a single subclass was patched, despite a general feeling that some could use tweaking.

But while the debates rage on over whether or not Update 2.4 was good or bad for the lifespan of Destiny, Xur has his own priorities. The Agent of the Nine is ready to return to The Tower to offer up his exotic wares, both weapon and armor.

This week, players can find Xur by the big door next to The Speaker. This is actually the same spot Xur chose not that long ago, so players should have an easy time finding him.

For exotic armor, this week Xur has the An Insurmountable Skullfort helmet for Titans, the ATS/8 Arachnid helmet for Hunters, and the Apotheosis Veil helmet for Warlocks. Three helmets across the board, but unfortunately none of the three are particularly useful. There are better options for all three subclasses in terms of exotic armor, but if you are a completionist go ahead and pick these up.

Xur’s exotic weapon this week is the Bad Juju pulse rifle. The Bad Juju is one of the pulses that may be slightly more useful thanks to the weapon balance changes in Update 2.4, but we haven’t tested it that thoroughly. If nothing else, the gun is good for charging a player’s Super.

For a full rundown of Xur’s items and prices see the list below:

  • An Insurmountable Skullfort (Titan Helmet) – 13 Strange Coins
  • ATS/8 Arachnid (Hunter Helmet) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Apotheosis Veil (Warlock Helmet) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Bad Juju (Pulse Rifle) – 23 Strange Coins
  • Legacy Gauntlet Engram – 29 Strange Coins
  • Three of Coins – 7 Strange Coins

With less than two weeks until the release of Rise of Iron, Xur is simply biding his time until he returns to relevance. We don’t know all that Xur will sell, but just the possibility of him selling new exotic weapons and armor pieces is sure to have players visiting regularly.
