It may not be the final appearance of Xur in Destiny 1, but for all intents and purposes it is the last one most players will care about. Destiny 2 launches next Wednesday and with it will come new weekly rituals and a new version of Xur.
Still, it’s worth reporting on Xur if only to make sure that his “final appearance” is documented for the Destiny fan base. And who knows, maybe he will sell some exotics that players have been waiting on.
This week, players can find Xur in the Tower South, in the hangar portion. Head to the right after spawning into The Tower, follow the path through a long hallway, travel down a few stairs, and make an immediate right when you see the hangar area. Xur will be against the railing.
Xur’s exotic armor inventory this weekend includes the Ruin Wings gauntlets for Titans, the Shinobu’s Vow gauntlets for Hunters, and the Purifier Robes chest piece for Warlocks.
Ruin Wings are a PvE staple of the Titan’s arsenal for their increased heavy ammo drops and a perk that lets players pick up more ammo per brick. Shinobu’s Vow and Purifier Robes, on the other hand, are less desirable exotics, with perks that only benefit a very specific use case. At one point, the Shinobu’s Vow were considered overpowered because of how great the tracking was on skip grenades, but Bungie fixed that relatively quick.
We hate to be the bearer of bad news but those who were hoping Xur might sell the Transversive Steps one last time before the launch of Destiny 2 are out of luck. After selling them during the first week of Rise of Iron, nearly a whole year has gone by without him selling them again. Hopefully those completionists out there found a different way to acquire the Transversive Steps.
This week’s exotic weapon is Plan C, a fusion rifle that was once a really deadly special weapon. But, as is the case with most things in Destiny, Plan C was deemed too strong and nerfed into the ground. The good news is fusion rifles seem to be much more viable in Destiny 2, or at least they were in the beta.
And finally, Xur’s exotic weapon bundles are the Invective shotgun and its Storm’s Reproach ornament, and the Trespasser sidearm and its Fallen Assassin ornament.
