We have the early scoop on where to find the vendor Xur and what exotic armor and weapons he has available to Destiny players for the weekend of October 30th.

It’s Halloween weekend and once again Xur has returned to Destiny’s tower with his inventory of exotic weapons and armor in tow. The big question was whether Xur would bring tricks or treats to Destiny guardians, and luckily the Agent of the Nine was in the spirit of the holiday.

This week players can find Xur in the Eastern wing of the Tower, right across from the Crucible Handler Shaxx. Simply walk forward after spawning into the Tower, follow the stairs down and past Eris Morn, and Xur should be immediately to the left.

Unfortunately, while many of the Tower’s major residents were happy to participate in the Festival of the LostDestiny’s version of Halloween – it appears Xur is less keen on the holiday. Some had hoped that Xur might be, at the very least, wearing a mask, but unfortunately that was not the case. And those hoping Xur might sell something special in celebration of Halloween are left in the cold as well.

That being said, Xur does have some worthwhile items in his inventory, all of which are new for The Taken King expansion. Titans have the Taikonaut helmet available, which adds tracking to any rocket launcher. Hunters have access to the Graviton Forfeit, a helmet that unlocks the ‘Shadestep’ perk for free. And Warlocks get the Alchemist’s Raiment, a chest piece that, while not as good as the other two, does give extra armor to Stormcallers.

But the real jewel of Xur’s inventory this weekend is the Zhalo Supercell, an auto rifle with a ton of cool design features. For starters, the Zhalo looks like an electrified AK-47, which in itself makes the gun easy on the eyes. But looks isn’t all the Zhalo Supercell has going for it, though; the gun also boasts an ability whereby it’s lightning bullets chain between enemies and regenerate ammo on double kills. For large groups of weaker enemies the Zhalo can become a never-ending machine gun of lightning.

For a full rundown of Xur’s items and prices see the list below:

  • The Taikonaut (Titan Helmet) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Graviton Forfeit (Hunter Helmet) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Alchemist's Raiment (Warlock Chest Piece) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Zhalo Supercell - 23 Strange Coins
  • Legacy Special Weapon Engram – 31  Strange Coins
  • Three of Coins – 7 Strange Coins

It’s also worth mentioning that the Zhalo is the only Year 2 primary weapon in Destiny that features an elemental burn, in this case Arc. As Destiny: The Taken King director Luke Smith recently revealed, the game is leaving elemental primaries behind in Year 2, which makes the Zhalo a one-of-a-kind weapon in more ways then one.

Overall, it was a great weekend for Xur, especially for those players looking to boost their Year 2 exotic collection. It’s unlikely we’ll see as good a weekend as this in the future, so best to spend those Strange Coins while you have them. Also, in case you couldn’t take the hint: pick up the Zhalo Supercell.

What do you hope Xur sells next weekend?
