The world of Destiny 2: Shadowkeep continued its evolution this week as Ikora's massive device is another step closer to completion, promising a showdown with the Vex Mind. The game also recieved a new difficulty mode for its Nightmare Hunts, also unlocking a new essence quest to obtain the unique looking Fusion Rifle, Dream Breaker.

Change is also coming to the sandbox, following the first round of adjustments made a few weeks ago at launch. This time around, Bungie is planning on making big adjustments to both the Dawnblade and Striker supers, two of which have been causing all sorts of chaos inside of the Crucible. Exotic items aren't safe either as Bungie announced another nerf incoming for a very popular Titan exotic that has appeared more than a few times in Xur's inventory.

Speaking of Xur, the exotic merchant has arrived once again to Destiny 2 for the next few days. Here's where players can find him as well as a review of what he's currently selling for the weekend of October 18, 2019.

Where is Xur?

Xur is back on Nessus this weekend, taking another ride on the Golden Barge of Emperor Calus.

From the Director, head to Nessus and load into Watcher's Grave. Once loaded in, run forward until the zone opens up. The Golden Barge is floating nearby with Xur hanging out towards the back of the ship near the treasure chests.

Class Armor

Three more Armor 2.0 exotics are available for purchase until the weekly reset next week. Keep in mind that his Fated Engram now features world-drop Exotics from Year 2. This should help guardians to continue filling out their exotic collections.

Here are Xur's three gear pieces this weekend:

Transversive Steps - Warlock Leg Armor

Another rare exotic that hasn't seen a ton of time with Xur are the Transversive Steps. They come with the intrinsic perk Strange Protractor which increases sprint speed and automatically reloads the currently equipped weapon after a short time sprinting.

Naturally, these are a universally great option especially in PvP where players are typically running around maps. Not having to take the few seconds to reload a weapon can sometimes mean the different between winning a gunfight or respawning. It's a fun exotic to play around with, especially in the new Armor 2.0 world, even if there are better options out there. One thing to note is that for those running a Resilience build, these exotics will likely be massively disappointing.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

  • Mobility +17
  • Resilience +2
  • Recovery +7
  • Discipline +6
  • Intellect +10
  • Strength +6

Shards of Galanor - Hunter gauntlets

At one point, these were one of the elite Hunter exotics due to how fast Hunters could regain super energy. . The little seen Mechaneer's Tricksleeves are a very specific exotic, geared only for Guardians who favor Sidearms. Which isn't likely many people. Spring-Loaded Mounting boosts Sidearms efficiency especially when the user is wounded.

While this is still a good exotic, its effectiveness was nerfed at the start of last season to essentially reduce how much super energy was regained. Still, this is a good Hunter exotic for those who like to run Way of a Thousand Cuts as it does provide a way to get a second super ability faster. Either way, they're worth spending the shards for those who don't have it.

Solar Enhanced. Stat Values:

  • Mobility +7
  • Resilience +11
  • Recovery +6
  • Discipline +6
  • Intellect +12
  • Strength +6

Dunemarchers - Titan Leg Armor

For those who enjoy running fast and hitting hard, the Dunemarchers are available for purchase from Xur. Linear Actuators increase the player's sprint speed and also builds up a static charge. When using a melee attack on an opponent, the charge is released and chains damage to all nearby enemies.

Like the Transversive Steps, these are a fun exotic to mess around with though their actual utility may vary from person to person. Still, they're worth picking up for those who don't have them as they can cause some pretty big damage when paired with certain Titan subclasses like bottom tree Striker or middle tree Sunbreaker.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

  • Mobility +13
  • Resilience +7
  • Recovery +6
  • Discipline +6
  • Intellect +6
  • Strength +12

Exotic Weapon

One of the better fusion rifles is back in stock this week. The Telesto features the intrinsic perk called Unplanned Reprieve which causes fusion projectiles to attach and detonate with a delayed void blast. The perk is paired with the Harbinger's Pulse perk which instantly reloads equipped primary and energy weapons after multi-kills with the Telesto. This feature worked extremely well on the Blind Well event to speed it along at a faster rate before the loophole was eventually closed.

Naturally, it's a great PvE weapon as its sticky explosives cover a wide area and can clear adds very fast. It's a solid PvP weapon as well, though it really shines once the Masterwork catalyst has been applied to increase the ammo reserves. Unfortunately, this option won't be available to everyone as to earn it, players are required to prestige the Eater of Worlds Raid. Either way, the community's phrase Telesto is Besto is valid for a reason.

The perks for this weapon this weekend are:

  • Projection Fuse
  • Polymer Grip

Here's the complete rundown of Xur's entire stock in Destiny 2 for October 18:

  • Transversive Steps (Warlock Leg Armor) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Shards of Galanor (Hunter gauntlets) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Dunemarchers (Titan Leg Armor) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Telesto (Fusion Rifle) - 29 Legendary Shards
  • Fated Engram - 97 Legendary Shards
  • Five of Swords Challenge Card

Destiny 2 Shadowkeep is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
