We have the early scoop on where to find the vendor Xur and what exotic armor and weapons he has available to Destiny players for the weekend of October 14th.
There are only a few days left until Wrath of the Machine Heroic mode releases, and right now Destiny players are likely putting the finishing touches on their subclass builds. Some are trying to figure out which weapons are the best to use in the raid, while others are trying to fine tune their world record times on Normal mode. Basically, this past week has been a lot of preparing – figuring out which subclasses and weapons are going to go after Aksis on hard.
As far as what weapons and armor pieces Destiny players are going to bring into the, chances are they have already acquired them. But if there are a few items missing in players’ arsenal, Xur has arrived to potentially fill in some of those spots.
This week, Destiny players can find Xur in the Tower next to the Speaker. At times it feels like Xur must have a special place in his heart for the Speaker, as he rarely spends time away from him these days. To get to Xur, simply head to the left after spawning in, follow the long hallway and into the open area of Tower North. Xur should be in the back area.
For exotic armor, this week Xur has a trio of older pieces: the Bones of Eao boots for Hunters, the Mk. 44 Stand Asides boots for Titans, and the Sunbreakers gauntlets for Warlocks. All three pieces have their uses, but you’d be hard pressed to find a player who doesn’t already them. Though if Strange Coins are tight, we’d recommend only buying the Bones of Eao, they make maneuverability on a Hunter so much easier, in both PvE and PvP.
But the real treat of Xur’s inventory this week is the Trespasser side arm, one of the new exotic weapons added with the Rise of Iron expansion. Some were able to get the Trespasser early by decrypting engrams following the pre-Rise of Iron patch, but for many this is their first shot at the weapon. It’s really fun to use so if you can spare the Coins we’d recommend picking it up.
It’s also worth mentioning that Xur is selling a gauntlet exotic engram NOT a legacy engram, which means the engram will decrypt into Year 3 items and at the new Year 3 light levels. We’re not sure if this is a glitch or by design, so pick them up while you can!
