Destiny: Xur Location and Exotic Items for October 17-19

By | 2 years ago

We’re back once again with another edition of ‘Where is Xur?‘, this time for the weekend of October 17th. Destiny‘s Agent of Nine has just appeared in the Tower and we have the full scoop on both what exotic items Xur is selling this week and where to find him.

As with past weekends, Xur magically appeared shortly after 5am PST, bringing with him the giddy prospect of new exotic wares. Those looking to find Xur post haste should pay particular attention to the Hangar, as he is hanging just to the right of the first stairs.

So far Xur’s selection has been a mixed bag for players. Now that he has become a staple of Destiny for more than a month, most of his armor options appear to have been exhausted. So much so that he has begun to run back through them in random order.

On the weapon front, though, Xur has been a godsend, offering up useful exotic after useful exotic for the past few weeks. Some examples of Xur’s awesome weapons include the Icebreaker sniper rifle, the Suros Regime auto rifle, and the Gjallarhorn rocket launcher. The Gjallarhorn is of particular use in Strikes and Raids because of its devastating damage rating against high powered bosses. Just look what the rocket launcher can do to Atheon in 17 seconds.

This week Xur continues that trend with more repeat armor (although there is some new) and a pretty useful exotic Heavy Weapon. Although the Gjallarhorn has been a boon of high level raiders, we bet that The Truth rocket launcher is going to be a big seller with its void damage.

Here is the full list of Xur’s Exotic armor and weapons, as well as their prices:

  • The Armamentarium (Titan Chest Armor) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Achlyophage Symbiote (Hunter Helmet) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Light Beyond Nemesis (Warlock Helmet) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Truth (Rocket Launcher) – 17 Strange Coins
  • Exotic Chest Engram – 23 Motes of Light

Although most players have likely accumulated a bevvy of exotic weapons and armor, Xur continues to be one of the big communal events for Destiny. Some will argue that Xur’s exotics have thrown Destiny’s balance off, especially in PvP, but it’s hard to deny players their shot at hand-crafted loot. We’ll be back again next week.

What do you think of Xur’s selection for this weekend? What are you considering buying? What would you like to see him offer in a future weekend?
