We have the early scoop on where to find the vendor Xur and what exotic armor and weapons he has available to Destiny players for the weekend of November 18th.
It’s been an odd week for Destiny players even though nothing much has been added or changed in the game. Yes, there was the Bungie Ride Along that offered a closer look at the new Wrath of the Machine raid, but the more peculiar happening has been the discussion surrounding matchmaking in Destiny.
It’s unclear why exactly the feeling has become so strong now, but a large portion of the community has begun voicing its disapproval of Destiny‘s skill based matchmaking. For those who might not know, Destiny switched from connection-based matchmaking to skill based matchmaking in Year 2 without much fanfare from Bungie. In fact, the developer didn’t even acknowledge that it was making the change; things just switched all of the sudden.
Needless to say, Destiny‘s community has become quite divided as of late. But, even when the community is at its most contentious, things still continue as normal outside of the subreddits and forums. Xur has to make his weekly visit, and bring with him a selection of exotic armor and weapons.
This week Destiny players can find Xur in the Reef, in the exact same spot he was last week. The developers at Bungie say that Xur’s location is random but sometimes it doesn’t feel that way, especially when he is in the same spot twice.
As far as exotic armor, Xur has the Eternal Warrior helmet for Titans, the Knuclehead Radar helmet for Hunters, and the The Impossible Machines gauntlets for Warlocks. Three very old exotic items is unlikely to get most Destiny players excited but each item has its uses. We’d recommend the Warlock gauntlets or the Hunter helmet for PvP, but that’s about it.
Xur’s exotic weapon this week is the Suros Regime, an auto rifle that has been around since the launch of Destiny. With all of the nerfs to auto rifles, there’s no real reason to use Suros, but the gun looks and sounds cool, so if you can spare the coins it’s worth adding to the mantle.
