So where is Xur this weekend? Well, for the third week in a row Xur has taken up residence in a familiar spot, this one right inside the hangar. He's actually pretty hard to miss; just follow the hallway down the first set of stairs and Xur should be standing to your right.
Unfortunately, getting to Xur will reveal that Destiny's Agent of the Nine has nothing particularly unexpected in his selection. Yet again, he has armor pieces from past sales and his Exotic weapon is the Truth rocket launcher that was on sale less than a month ago. Really, the only players profiting from this weekend's Xur sale are those who didn't (or couldn't) pull the trigger on one of these items the first time around.
Nevertheless, here is the full list of items and prices for Xur this weekend:
- Crest of Alpha Lupi (Titan Chest Armor) – 13 Strange Coins
- Mask of the Third Man (Hunter Helmet) – 13 Strange Coins
- Sunbreakers (Warlock Gauntlets) – 13 Strange Coins
- Truth (Rocket Launcher) – 17 Strange Coins
- Exotic Helmet Engram – 23 Motes of Light
If you haven't already pulled the trigger on Truth, we highly recommend the rocket launcher. It may not be as useful as the Gjallarhorn, but its lock-on and void damage can do wonders in the Weekly Nightfall Strike when the 'Void Burn' modifier is in. It can also work in a pinch at taking down Atheon with minimal aiming.
Now that Xur seems to be repeating items even more frequently it calls to question whether this post is even necessary. Before, it was a useful place for Destiny players to suggest weapons like the Ice Breaker or the Suros Regime, but now even that utility is seemingly lost.
Back when Xur had his first repeat we speculated that his selection might be limited, but then he continually showed up with a new and useful weapon. There was the Suros, the Ice Breaker, the Truth – plenty of really helpful weapons for PvE, PvP, and especially in the Vault of Glass. Now it appears we are back to those assumptions and wondering whether Xur's Strange Coins are even worth collecting any more.
What do you think of Xur's selection this week? Would you like these Xur posts to continue?
