Xur has arrived for Destiny players once again to spend their Strange Coins on a selection that includes exotic armor, an exotic weapon, exotic weapon bundles (which include ornaments), and a few unique consumables. For those that may not be familiar with Xur, he’s kind of like Santa Claus for Destiny, except he shows up every weekend and he charges in-game money for his presents.

Where is Xur?

This week, players can find Xur in the Tower North, a frequent hiding place for Destiny’s exotic vendor. Specifically, Xur has set up shop in front of the big door next to The Speaker.

If you don’t know where that is, simply head to the left after spawning in, and follow the path until you reach the open area. Xur will be on the right hand side, next to a big wall/door that will eventually be breached during Destiny 2’s opening moments.

Exotic Armor and Weapon

Xur’s exotic armor selection this weekend includes the Helm of Saint-14 helmet for Titans, the ATS/8 Arachnid helmet for Hunters, and The Ram helmet for Warlocks. All three are solid exotic armor pickups, with the Warlock and Titan options standing as some of the most popular for their respective classes.

The Ram is great for PvP because it gives Warlocks extra armor, and the Titan helmet is very useful for PvE encounters where the team needs to place a Ward of Dawn bubble and focus on DPS. Any enemy that enters the bubble is blinded for a time, meaning they won’t attack the team as they are doing damage.

For his exotic weapon, Xur has the Hereafter sniper rifle on sale, an arc elemental weapon that has a cool design but is not particularly useful. The weapon’s awkward scope isn’t as comfortable to use as many of the standard sniper rifle scopes, and its “stickiness” isn’t on par with some of the more popular archetypes.

It is cool to nail a headshot and blind nearby enemies – Hereafter’s unique perk – but that only comes in handy in very specific situations.

And finally, Xur’s exotic weapon bundles for the weekend are the Monte Carlo auto rifle and its Superspy ornament, and the Truth rocket launcher and its Prototype ornament.
