We have the early scoop on where to find the vendor Xur and what exotic armor and weapons he has available to Destiny players for the weekend of March 18th.
For the first time in what feels like a long time, the Destiny fan base has a reason to be excited. As promised, Bungie finally revealed more about the upcoming Spring Update, which we now know will be released on April 12th.
According to Bungie, the April update will add new PvE challenges to Destiny, along with new gear and a new light level step. Those challenges will apparently include a new strike and quest called Blighted Chalice.
While not much is known about the April update at this time, Bungie did include a screenshot of three “Taken Guardians” with their weekly post. Moreover, those Guardians were decked out in Prison of Elders gear, suggesting that the new PvE content could be revamped versions of the Prison of Elders arenas, only with Taken enemies. Seems likely, but we won’t know for sure until next week.
As far as that new gear is concerned, the hope is that new and exciting weapons will enter the rotation, including exotic items. It’s possible that some of those items might even become a part of Xur’s exotic inventory, thereby increasing interest in the Agent of the Nine’s weekly visit to the Tower.
This week, however, there isn’t much reason to celebrate Xur’s return, unless you have yet to acquire the Zhalo Supercell. In fact, Titans will be especially disappointed to learn that Xur has the exact same exotic helmet, An Insurmountable Skullfort, that he had for sale last week. And in case Hunters or Warlocks are curious, Xur has the Radiant Dance Machines boots and the Obsidian Mind helmet.
Those hoping to find Xur will locate the exotic vendor in Tower North, next to the speaker. It’s a spot that has become all too common for Xur to frequent as of late. Perhaps he is bonding with the mysterious, masked man.
As we mentioned, the Zhalo Supercell is the hot ticket item this week, an exotic auto rifle that has arc elemental damage, a mean fire rate, and a chain lightning ability that is great for mob control. If you don’t have the Zhalo already, we highly recommend picking one up. Not just for Nightfall Strikes with arc burn either.
