It’s the weekend, which means that Destiny players are searching the Tower for the exotic vendor Xur once again. For the week of March 17th, players can find Xur tucked in the Vanguard quarters, next to the big table that hosts Destiny Vanguards Zavala, Cayde-6, and Ikora Rey.
Specifically, players can find Xur by spawning into the Tower, heading straight, zooming past Eris Morn and the Crucible vanguard, and then looking to the right in the back room. If you see a very large table – this is the area that Destiny players turn in their quests in the hopes of getting a Year 3 Icebreaker – then you are in the right place.
Xur’s exotic armor inventory this weekend includes the Glasshouse helmet for Titans, the Shinobu’s Vow gauntlets for Hunters, and The Ram helmet for Warlocks.
The Glasshouse is a solid recommendation for PvE Titans as it helps prolong the Ward of Dawn super and increases its effects. So if there is ever a situation where fireteams want to do max damage, like in Vault of Glass for example, then the Glasshouse can come in handy.
The Shinobu’s Vow gauntlets were a solid choice for Bladedancer Hunters in PvP, but nerfs to skip grenades and Bladedancers in general have made the exotic armor piece less desirable.
The Ram, on the other hand, is still a go-to for Warlocks in the Crucible, as it increases a player’s armor and gives Voidwalker Warlocks the Life Steal perk on any melee. Extra armor was somewhat of a moot benefit when shotguns ruled in Crucible, but now that the Special Ammo economy has changed, The Ram is even more viable.
Xur’s exotic weapon this weekend is Telesto, a fusion rifle that sends out small void charges that stick to enemies/players and then explode. Think of it like Bungie’s homage to the Needler from its other hit series, Halo.
According to Bungie, Nightfall strikes are going to feature a lot more varied modifiers during the Age of Triumph event, and we suspect Telesto might become a monster if the Void Burn and Specialist modifiers are active during the same week. Even so, if you didn’t already own Telesto it’s worth picking up just for the effects.
