As the Season of Opulence rolls on, Bungie is keeping Destiny 2 players active with new things to do. Earlier this week, the more difficult heroic version of the Menagerie launched, challenging pre-made fireteams to defeat enemies starting at 750 power in exchange for new triumphs to unlock and rewards that can only be earned in this mode. Unlike the normal version, the Extinguish modifier is active and will send the entire fireteam back to orbit if the team is wiped.

Bungie also confirmed that the next exotic weapon quest is set to kick off next reset on July 2. While the studio didn't go into too much detail, it was revealed that the Lumina quest will begin somewhere in the European Dead Zone. There's also a rumor that the exotic quest will eventually unlock one of the weapons of sorrow known as Rose.

Before the latest exotic finally arrives next week, there's a new set of exotics up for purchase curtesy of Destiny 2's weekend merchant Xur. Here's where players can find the elusive merchant and find out what exotic gear is in his inventory for the weekend of June 28, 2019.

Where is Xur?

This week, players can find the Agent of the Nine back in the Tower hangar.

After entering the hangar, head left again past Arach Jalaal and the Dead Orbit crew and up a metal stair case. Xur is standing on a metal platform at the back of this room overlooking the mountain ranges below.

Class Armor

It's another strong week for exotic class armor, though one such class may not be as thrilled with their selection. Thankfully, they can purchase the Fated Engram which gives an alternative method to potentially unlock an exotic from the Forsaken expansion.

Here are all three gear pieces for this weekend:

Chromatic Fire - Warlock chest armor

Just on sale a month ago, the Warlock's Chromatic Fire armor is back in stock. The armor comes equipped with the Crystalline Transistor perk which causes an explosion in the element of the player’s equipped subclass after a kinetic precision kill.

Based on its ability, this armor really excels in PvE situations, especially where the user is going up against a lot of enemies where the area of effect can maximize the damage. So places like Gambit, Reckoning and the Menagerie are great places to wear this item. While PvP is hit or miss, some players have discovered success when pairing this gear up with certain weapons like the Ace of Spades or Blast Furnace.

Random Gear Rolls:

  • Restorative OR Mobility
  • Unflinching Auto Rifle Aim, Unflinching Hand Cannon Aim, Unflinching Kinetic Aim
  • Sidearm Reserves OR Submachine Gun Reserves

St0mp-EE5 - Hunter boots

Pronounced Stompees, these Hunter boots are essentially a movement enhancer exotic item and has less of an impact on combat capabilities. Thanks to its intrinsic perk, Hydraulic Boosters, players have increased sprint speed and slide distance. Not only that, this exotic further improves High Jump, Strafe Jump, and Triple Jump.

Unfortunately, these St0mp-EE5 are missing the sought after Traction perk. While that won't impact PC players as much, it does help console players who favor close range combat as well as movement in activites like The Whisper quest. Still, these are solid pickups all around for platforming heavy gameplay like sections of the Menagerie and even some Raid sections.

Random Gear Rolls:

  • Mobility OR Resilience
  • Auto Rifle Dexterity, Fusion Rifle Dexterity, Perpetuation
  • Scout Rifle Scavenger OR Sidearm Scavenger

One-Eyed Mask - Titan helm

Along with the Chromatic Fire, the One-Eyed Mask is back again on sale, ensuring that non-Titan players will likely be seeing this item quite a bit in the Crucible. Its intrinsic perk, Vengeance, activates after the wearer takes damage. However, when the perk is active, the player that did the damaging is highlighted and the wearer gains an over shield and damage buff.

Obviously, the One-Eyed Mask is an extremely powerful PvP item making it a must own for fans of the Crucible. However, it’s also not bad for PvE activities either, especially in modes like Gambit where you can invade against a team of human opponents.

Random Gear Rolls:

  • Restorative OR Mobility
  • Bow Targeting, Hand Cannon Targeting, Remote Connection
  • Fusion Rifle Reserves OR Sniper Rifle Reserves

Exotic Weapon

It's been a while but the unique looking Vigilance Wing pulse rifle is back on sale this weekend with Xur. In addition to its look, its intrinsic perk makes this weapon stand out a bit from other weapons in the same class. Hard Truths gives this weapon a five shot burst instead of the typical three. Not only that, the player using the weapon gains instant health regeneration and increased movement speed when a nearby ally is killed due to the trait Last Stand.

At this point, there are better options available with many players arguing for weapons like Blast Furnace, Bygones, and Outbreak Prime to name a few. Still, the Vigilance Wing is a solid option even with its higher recoil due to its extra shots. It's solid when playing in teams and its very good at landing headshots.

The perks for this weapon this weekend are:

  • Corkscrew Rifling
  • Alloy Magazine
  • Composite Stock

Here's the complete rundown of Xur's entire stock in Destiny 2 for June 28:

  • Chromatic Fire (Warlock chest armor) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • St0mp-EE5 (Hunter boots) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • One-Eyed Mask (Titan helm) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Vigilance Wing (Pulse Rifle) - 29 Legendary Shards
  • Fated Engram - 97 Legendary Shards
  • Five of Swords Challenge Card

Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
