Destiny: Xur Location and Exotic Items for July 15-17

By | 3 months ago

We have the early scoop on where to find the vendor Xur and what exotic armor and weapons he has available to Destiny players for the weekend of July 15th.

It feels like we are on the precipice of something really special, Destiny players, and very soon the horizon will come into view. Next week Bungie is finally going to begin to peel back the curtain and reveal what Year 3 and the Rise of Iron expansion will offer to veterans and newcomers alike.

First up will be a look at the new Cosmodrome, which will fast forward some time into the future. After the time jump, players will see what winter looks like on Earth and how the passing of time has changed the familiar landscape. That reveal will take place next Wednesday, July 20th, at 10am Pacific Time.

Presumably this Destiny reveal stream will be followed by a regular schedule of reveals, but Bungie has yet to outline its larger plans just yet. So far, the only official reveal stream is the one scheduled for the Winter Cosmodrome, but that alone should be enough to get the fans excited.

Speaking of exciting, Xur is back for Destiny players to peruse his wares, and he has a decent selection for both the PvE and PvP crowd. Those looking to find the mysterious Agent of the Nine can find Xur in The Reef at the only spot he can possible spawn. For those that might not know, that’s down the stairs to the right after you spawn in.

For armor, this week Xur has the Ruin Wings gauntlets for Titans, the Young Ahamkara’s Spine gauntlets for Hunters, and the Light Beyond Nemesis helmet for Warlocks. Out of the three we’d say that the Ruin Wings are the best choice, for their ability to increase Heavy Ammo drops in PvE. Granted, getting the drops to actually happen can sometimes require a bit of praying, but the Ruin Wings are hard to pass up regardless.

Xur’s exotic weapon this weekend is the Super Good Advice heavy machine gun, which has become a beast in Year 2. Because the gun can replace landed shots in the magazine, Super Good Advice has the potential to feed infinite bullets to the player, assuming they don’t miss. The gun comes the most in handy against bosses that just stand there and take damage.
