With less than a week left until the Destiny 2 beta, hype surrounding Bungie’s sequel is at an all time high. It doesn’t hurt that new info is dropping daily regarding the game, including looks at the new Sentinel Titan subclass and a few Crucible maps.

But although the focus may be on Destiny 2, the original game is still going strong as well. This weekend Xur has returned with his exotic armor and weapon selection, and players can once again spend their Strange Coins to improve their arsenal.

Xur Location

This weekend, Destiny players can find Xur on the balcony next to the Speaker, which is in Tower North. After spawning into the social space head to the left, follow the path down the long hallway, enter the new area, and Xur should be in the back against the railing. You may need to get close to him before his icon appears.

Exotic Armor and Weapon

Xur’s exotic armor selection this weekend includes the Immolation Fists gauntlets for Titans, the Crest of Alpha Lupi chest piece for Hunters, and the Starfire Protocol chest piece for Warlocks. It’s a decent selection as far as exotic armor goes, with the Hunter chest piece standing out as the most worth picking up. Quicker revives and the ability to create an extra orb on Super use can come in handy in PvP modes like Trials of Osiris.

The Titan gauntlets are also a good pickup for PvP fans, especially those that like to run the Sunbreaker subclass. Yes, there have been some nerfs to the subclass over time, but the gauntlets let players run two useful perks at once.

Monte Carlo is Xur’s exotic weapon for the weekend, a fast-firing auto rifle that helps players get their melee charge faster than normal. Our feelings on auto rifles have been well documented over the last few months, but Monte Carlo is a solid choice for fans of the archetype. The gun is also a great choice for activities that need a lot of melee attacks.

Bundles and Recap

And finally, Xur’s exotic weapon bundles are the Dragon’s Breath rocket launcher and its Tigershark ornament, and the Suros Regime auto rifle and its Basilisk’s Glory ornament.
