We have the early scoop on where to find the vendor Xur and what exotic armor and weapons he has available to Destiny players for the weekend of January 20th.

It's the usual down time for Destiny, which means that players are trying to find their own ways to have fun. In some cases that involves grinding Iron Banner for new gear, while in others it means dusting off old challenges, like soloing Aksis at light level 385, to see what's truly possible. Unfortunately, finding the fun in current content is all Destiny players will have for a while, as Bungie this week confirmed the Crimson Days event will not return for February.

The good news is that a weapon balance update is in the works, which should hopefully improve the state of Destiny's PvP once it releases. And Bungie has begun teasing new content for later this year - presumably the last add-on before the release of Destiny 2 in the fall.

Alongside those familiar traditions, Xur has made his triumphant return to The Tower for his weekend sale. If you're looking to find Xur, he is hiding across from The Speaker, next to the big circular door. All you need to do is head to the left after spawning in and follow the path through.

Xur's exotic armor this weekend includes the Helm of Inmost Light helmet for Titans, the ATS/8 Arachnid helmet for Hunters, and the Obsidian Mind helmet for Warlocks. Three exotic helmets for the three classes in Destiny, and all are somewhat viable within the game. Admittedly, these aren't the best exotics for their classes - in some cases they aren't even the best exotic helmets - but if you happen to missing one, we'd recommend picking them up.

The MIDA Multi-tool scout rifle is Xur's exotic weapon for the weekend. It's a decent option that used to be a top tier weapon, but a recent nerf took MIDA and helped bring it back down to Earth. At one point, MIDA was a sniper's worst nightmare, with high caliber rounds that caused a nasty flinch on opponents, but now it's simply a solid, fast-firing scout rifle.

For those who are curious, Xur does have both Three of Coins and Glass Needles in his inventory, so feel free to pick those up at your leisure.

For a full rundown of Xur’s items and prices see the list below:
