Destiny - Xur Location Jan 9

After one of his best showings since the launch of Destiny, many were wondering how Xur would follow-up last week's selection. Turns out, he didn't have a very great follow-up, but nonetheless the show must go on.

This week, Xur can be found right inside the hangar on the ledge overlooking the last living city on Earth. It's really hard to miss him, just head towards the Hangar and hang a sharp right. He'll be right there ready to sell off his wares.

As far as Xur's selection it's nothing too impressive. Once again he has The Last Word, albeit this is the new version of the exotic hand cannon with a maximum attack power of 332. It's a solid hand cannon for fans of the primary, but is mostly used in Crucible. The full auto fire capabilities are perfect for close encounters and it just plain looks cool to boot. However, those who have a hand cannon like Fatebringer and Hawkmoon might want to save their Strange Coins for a later date.

Destiny - Xur Items Jan 9

Armor-wise, Xur has a decent offer of exotic gear, but nothing that we haven't seen before. Basically, if you've been a regular visitor of Xur for a while now, you likely already have the armor he is selling or have decided it's not for you.

Nevertheless, here's what Xur has for sale this weekend:

  • An Insurmountable Skullfort (Titan Helmet) - 13 Strange Coins
  • Lucky Raspberry (Hunter Chest Armor) - 13 Strange Coins
  • Starfire Protocol (DLC Warlock Chest Armor) - 13 Strange Coins
  • The Last Word (Hand Cannon) - 23 Strange Coins
  • Exotic Shard - 7 Strange Coins

For exotic upgrades, Xur has a few new items including the Thorn hand cannon, Hard Light auto rifle, and the PlayStation exclusive Monte Carlo. And if you've yet to upgrade that Gjallarhorn to the new version, Xur has it once again. Unfortunately, using the rocket launcher to solo the raid will no longer be a viable option. Still, take advantage of the repeat offering while you can.

  • Crest of Alpha Lupi (Hunter)
  • Young Ahamkara's Spine
  • Helm of Saint-14
  • An Insurmountable Skullfort
  • Apotheosis Veil
  • Heart of the Praxic Fire
  • Hard Light
  • Suros Regime
  • MIDA Multi-Tool
  • Thorn
  • Plan C
  • Gjallarhorn
  • Mone Carlo

Obviously it was going to be hard for Xur to follow-up last week's all-DLC offering, but this is still a decent selection. A few new upgraded exotics and a decent hand canon for fans of the primary ain't too bad.

What do you think of Xur's exotic offerings this week? What would you like to see him sell next week?
