Destiny Xur Location January 23

Xur finally offered one of Destiny players' most requested items last weekend, which in itself is a tough act to follow. So how would the Agent of the Nine prepare players for Crota's End hard mode? Read on to find out where Xur is hiding and what he has to offer.

Obviously, it was going to be hard for Xur to top the Icebreaker, or even the all-DLC offering from a few weeks back, but that doesn't mean he couldn't provide something useful. In fact, given what we know about Crota's End hard mode, there are a few weapons that Xur could have offered to meet those needs. Anything that would help players regenerate health - weapons or armor - would have been perfect for this week, but first let's find Xur first.

This week Xur is hiding in the Vanguard quarters - the room that holds each Destiny class' Vanguard leader. It's the room with a long table in the center and a vast view of Earth. He's off to the right once players enter the room, in the same spot as usual.

For his armor selection, Xur does have three DLC pieces again, but the only new items of note are the Hunter boots. That being said, the Radiant Dance Machines are unlikely to do much for the average Hunter, although they look pretty cool. Also, those Hunters looking to complete their exotic armor set are likely pretty happy to see these pop up.

Destiny Xur Items January 23

In keeping with the sniper rifle theme from last week, Xur has the No Land Beyond rifle for sale. It's rather ironic that after offering one of the best guns in all of Destiny, Xur would offer up one of its worst. Yes, No Land Beyond may be one of only three exotic sniper rifles and it's a DLC one at that, but we'd recommend players avoid this gun at all costs. The good news is that Xur has an exotic engram, so players can finally get some use out of their Motes of Light.

For a full rundown of Xur’s items and prices see the list below:

  • MK. 44 Stand Asides (Titan Boots) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Radiant Dance Machines (Hunter DLC Boots) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Starfire Protocol (Warlock DLC Chest Armor – 13 Strange Coins
  • No Land Beyond (Sniper Rifle) – 17 Strange Coins
  • Exotic Shard – 7 Strange Coins
  • Exotic Helmet Engram - 23 Motes of Light

On the exotic upgrade front, Bungie continues to tease its player base with the Gjallarhorn upgrade and a few repeat other repeat offerings. Here’s the full list of exotic upgrades:

  • Knucklehead Radar
  • Achlyophage Symbiote
  • Helm of Inmost Light
  • Crest of Alpha Lupi (Titan)
  • Light Beyond Nemesis
  • Sunbreakers
  • Bad Juju
  • Invective
  • Universal Remote
  • Thunderlord
  • Gjallarhorn
  • Truth
  • Hawkmoon

So, no health-regenerating items in Xur's selection this week, which is no doubt disappointing. However, once Bungie compiles a bit more data we wouldn't be surprised to see them try to get Red Death back into the rotation or some armor pieces that help during Crota's End. Until next week.

What do you think of Xur’s selection this week? What do you hope he sells next week?
