Destiny Xur Location Feb 6

Coming off a week that did little to excite Destiny players, the Agent of the Nine Xur was poised to continue his disappointing downward trend. Still, players continue to hold out hope that he might one day follow up his fantastic Ice Breaker offering with the creme de la creme. Would this be the week? Read on to find out.

This week, Xur can be found right inside the hangar, immediately to the right of the first set of descending stairs. It's a common spot for Xur and one that many will miss, but at least the trek from the Vault is not very far.

Xur's Exotic Selection

Unfortunately, once Destiny players do peruse Xur's wares they won't find anything too special. He has the Glasshouse helmet for Titans, which can be helpful for those who regularly use the bubble, or want to take down Crota using only punches. Similarly, the Don't Touch Me Gauntlets are essential for any Hunters hoping to make it through The Abyss section of Crota's End solo, as they make staying invisible a cinch, but the gauntlets were also available just last week. And for Warlocks he has Sunbreakers...good old Sunbreakers.

Destiny Xur Exotic Items Feb 6

For his exotic weapon, Xur has the Plan C fusion rifle, which is a solid option for fans of the charge and shoot category. There are a few better fusion rifles out there, but if you're the type of player who regularly visits the Crucible then Plan C will fit the bill nicely.

Xur also has a gauntlet engram for those players still stockpiling Motes of Light. However, because Xur has two class gauntlets on sale already, players will run the risk of wasting their Motes on items they could have bought with Strange Coins if they wanted. Realistically, we'd only suggest going for the engram if you're a Titan looking to get the Ruin Wings.

For a full rundown of Xur’s items and prices see the list below:

  • The Glasshouse (Titan Helmet) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Don’t Touch Me (Hunter Gauntlets) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Sunbreakers (Warlock Gauntlets) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Plan C (Fusion Rifle) – 17 Strange Coins
  • Exotic Gauntlet Engram – 23 Motes of Light
  • Exotic Shard – 7 Strange Coins

The real biggie is that Xur still does not have heavy ammo synthesis in his inventory. It's been close to a month since Xur has offered the very important Destiny consumable, and even though Bungie is working on fixing the heavy ammo glitch, it's still a real problem. Heavy ammo synths would alleviate the problem some, but Xur has no interest in making players' lives easier.

Exotic Upgrades

Nothing special to report on the exotic upgrade front, unless there are some Titans out there who haven't upgraded their Insurmountable Skullfort. The helmet is very useful in Crota's End for its healing abilities, so if you haven't traded up yet go ahead and take the plunge.

Overall, this week is another one to forget for Xur. The lack of heavy ammo synthesis only makes players' frustrations with the glitch stronger, and of course there's no Gjallarhorn. Until next week Guardians!

What do you hope Xur sells next week? Do you think he will ever sell heavy ammo again?
