We have the early scoop on where to find the vendor Xur and what exotic armor and weapons he has available to Destiny players for the weekend of December 30th.
With only a few days left until Destiny‘s Dawning event comes to a close, players are likely trying to get their last few Sparrow races in and trying to collect some of the new, holiday-themed loot. The good news is most of the meaningful content, like Strike Scoring and a chance to earn the Icebreaker exotic, will persist after the Dawning ends on January 3rd, but some things will be gone for good.
On the flip side, the end of the Dawning also means the start of a new year for both Destiny players and for Bungie. While the studio has been mostly quiet during the Dawning event – more on that in a bit – the developers should start teasing the future very soon. If Destiny 2 really is releasing in 2017, presumably in the fall, then it’s high time Bungie start talking about what its hopes and ideas are for the sequel.
Until the, though, it’s business as usual, which means our regular visit from Xur. This is the last Xur appearance for 2016 so the hope was that he might go out with a bang, but unfortunately a whimper is more like it.
This week, players can find in The Reef, making a rare appearance in the House of Wolves social space. For those who aren’t familiar with Xur’s Reef hiding spot, the exotic vendor likes to hole up behind a door that’s usually locked. Head to the right after spawning in, follow the stairs down and to the right, and Xur should be behind the door straight ahead.
For exotic armor, this week Xur has the Crest of Alpha Lupi for Titans, the Don’t Touch Me gauntlets for Hunters, and the Apotheosis Veil helmet for Warlocks. Nothing too special as far as exotic armor pieces go, but the Crest of Alpha Lupi chest piece can come in handy in game modes like Elimination or Trials of Osiris.
Xur’s exotic weapon this weekend is the Suros Regime auto rifle, an old favorite of the Agent of the Nine. Unfortunately, significant nerfs to auto rifles have made Suros and other auto rifles like it practically useless.
And yes, while it seemed like Three of Coins would only be missing from Xur’s selection last weekend, they are once again nowhere to be found. It’s unclear why the glitch happened yet again, but chances are the devs that might have been able to fix the problem are still on vacation. If a fix does come through, Game Rant will be sure to update this post to let everyone know.
Perhaps as an apology Bungie has replaced the usual legacy exotic engram with a regular exotic engram. Meaning if players wanted to raise their light level and were missing a helmet, these can help.
