We have the early scoop on where to find the vendor Xur and what exotic armor and weapons he has available to Destiny players for the weekend of December 25th.

While it’s not uncommon for Xur to make an appearance on or near a holiday, there are very few as perfectly timed as Christmas. Heading into the weekend, and knowing that Xur was set to appear exactly on Christmas, many Destiny players hope Bungie has a special surprise for them. Would Xur show up with a Santa Claus-sized bounty of presents? Or maybe the Tower might be littered with snow to celebrate the season. Anything seemed possible.

Unfortunately, it appears that any holiday cheer was spent on preparing the Sparrow Racing League and outfitting the tower with racer-themed colors and decorations. In hindsight it’s probably a smart move on Bungie’s part to keep Destiny in a neutral place as far as December holidays go, but still there’s hope Xur might have something good. But first things first, we have to find him.

This week, players can find Xur in front of the big door in Tower North, right across from the Speaker. Turn left after spawning into the Tower, follow the stairs down and around to the left, and Xur should be on the right hand side of the open balcony area.

For exotic armor, Xur has three Year 1 pieces that were just recently upgraded to Year 2 with the December Update. He has the Armamentarium chest piece for Titans, the Bones of Eao boots for Hunters, and the Ram helmet for Warlocks – all three of which are useful exotic armor choices for their respective classes.

Similarly, Xur has the MIDA Multi-Tool on sale, another Year 1 exotic gun that was just recently brought forward to Year 2. Thanks to the MIDA’s increased movement buff, the exotic scout rifle has proven quite the boon in long range PvP maps as of late and is well worth picking up.

While there was no special Christmas redesign for the Tower or anything special done with Xur, Bungie is not letting its fans head into the new year empty handed. As the developer has previously detailed, any Destiny players, new or old, will receive some special gifts in early 2016 as a thank you for their support. In order to earn some of those gifts, players will have to log in between a few days in early January, while others will drop for everyone.
