We have the early scoop on where to find the vendor Xur and what exotic armor and weapons he has available to Destiny players for the weekend of December 23rd.

It’s the second week of Destiny’s Dawning event and thus far things seem to be going along nicely. Compared to the Festival of the Lost, which heavily relied on microtransactions, The Dawning offers new content to enjoy, like Strike Scoring and Sparrow Racing, without “encouraging” players to spend money. However, those who do want to spend money can, and there are a couple items in the loot pool that might be worth grabbing.

Speaking of spending money in Destiny, Xur has once again returned to The Tower for his second appearance during the Dawning event. Last weekend, Xur didn’t have much in the way of holiday cheer – no presents, Santa hat, or even unique items – but this weekend he is in the spirit. Unfortunately, rather than come bearing gifts, Xur has some “coal” in his sack.

But first Destiny players have to find Xur, who has set up shop across from The Speaker. When you spawn into The Tower, head to the left, follow the long hallway down a few stairs, and then Xur should be on the right hand side. He’s next to the large round door.

Now that we’ve found Xur, let’s cut right to the chase: Xur isn’t selling Three of Coins this weekend. At first, some players thought this might be a new trend for Xur, but it appears it is a glitch of some sort. Destiny Community Manager Cozmo acknowledged the issue and says that the development team is looking into it. As of right now, though, it’s unclear whether the devs might patch the Three of Coins back in for the weekend, or if this might be one of those fluke weeks.

Outside of that, Xur has his usual compliment of items. His armor selection includes the Empyrean Bellicose helmet for Titans, the Knucklehead Radar helmet for Hunters and The Ram helmet for Warlocks. Clearly, Xur thinks that Destiny players’ headgear needs an upgrade.

All three of the helmets are worth picking up in this writer’s opinion, as each can come in handy given the situation. Empyrean Bellicose, for example, is a perfect choice when the Airborne modifier is active in weekly strikes and Nightfall strikes.

Xur’s exotic weapon this weekend is the Plan C fusion rifle, a deadly yellow number that is formidable in the right hands. Fusions don’t get enough love in the current Destiny PvP meta, but Plan C tries its best to hang with the shotguns.

For a full rundown of Xur’s items and prices see the list below:

  • Empyrean Bellicose (Titan Helmet) – 13 Strange Coins
