Only a few days remain in the current season of Destiny 2 and while players may be scrambling to finish up any outstanding triumphs, Bungie has been clearing a path to Season 9. As promised, the developer provided a ton of new information regarding Season of Dawn, holding a livestream to show off new armor and the new Sundial activity.

In terms of where the story goes from here, a brand new trailer showed the return of Osiris, who confirmed that with the Undying Mind now defeated, time has sort of broken. The Cabal has used this to their advantage by attempting to change the outcome of the Red War, though an even bigger event has transpired due to time spiraling out of control. Saint-14, the legendary Titan who died battling the Vex, has reappeared and will be featured in the new story line as players work to rescue him.

It's an exciting time to be a Destiny 2 and this weekend, the exotic merchant Xur may even have a surprise or two for players. Follow this guide for his location as well as a review of what he's currently selling for the weekend of December 6, 2019.

Where is Xur?

This weekend, Xur can be found on Titan hiding in his usual building at The Rig.

Once loaded into The Rig, start heading to the other side of the zone — towards the ramp that leads to the Solarium. Before reaching that ramp, Xur can be found inside one of the nearby houses, typically on the left side if the player is facing the Solarium ramp.

Class Armor

Keep in mind that the Armor 2.0 update has caused Xur's items each week to mirror the rolls players get from pulling these items from their own Collections. As it stands, players should likely hold on to their shards if they already own the following items. Players can use the Fated Engram to pull something a little different if nothing in his inventory is appealing this week.

Here are Xur's three gear pieces this weekend:

Lunafaction Boots - Warlock boots

Warlocks can pick up the sought after Lunafaction Boots from Xur this week. They come with the unique perk Alchemical Etchings which provide a substantial impact to both rifts. All rifts now gain the added ability to increase weapon reload speeds while Empowering Rift makes weapons more effective over longer ranges.

These were once the pinnacle exotic for Warlocks running Well of Radiance, helping fireteams overcome all sorts of tough encounters. However, they were reworked and effectively nerfed alongside the launch of Shadowkeep. While they may not be as dominant as they once were, the Lunafaction boots remain a strong option for Warlocks.

Solar Enhanced. Stat Values:

  • Mobility +6
  • Resilience +13
  • Recovery +7
  • Discipline +6
  • Intellect +6
  • Strength +10

Wormhusk Crown - Hunter helm

At one point, this exotic helm could save a Hunter from death just by dodging. No longer. It's unique perk is called Burning Souls which gives a small health and shield boost to players after they dodge.

As hinted at above, this item was once a powerful ally to Hunters, but a nerf earlier in the year knocked its viability way down, even if it was a small bump in value due to the Arc Battery perk. Not only that, this exotic item is given to Hunters who finish the short Warmind campaign, so for that reason alone, this is an item to skip and save resources on.

Void Enhanced. Stat Values:

  • Mobility +7
  • Resilience +2
  • Recovery +17
  • Discipline +6
  • Intellect +6
  • Strength +12

Stronghold - Titan gauntlets

Last available in August, the Stronghold gauntlets are a fairly recent exotic item, having been added during the Annual Pass era. It's intrinsic perk is called Clenched Fist which relates directly to swords. When guarding, the player's move speed is increased and ammo isn't drained. In addition, any shots that are blocked heals the player immediately after guarding.

For those who enjoy using swords, these can be a powerful exotic, but for everyone else they can be avoided. Actually, this may be a solid pickup this week due to Xur's weapon option...

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

  • Mobility +6
  • Resilience +14
  • Recovery +6
  • Discipline +12
  • Intellect +2
  • Strength +12

Exotic Weapon

For the first time ever, Xur has brought the Black Talon sword with him this weekend. This heavy sword features the Crow's Wing perk which lets the user swing to fire off a cross combo projectile. It's secondary perk, Tireless Blade, gives ammo for every other powered sword kill.

While most people tend to stick with machine guns and grenade launchers over swords, the Black Talon has the advantage over other swords in that it is able to launch projectiles. Naturally, this means the player doesn't have to get up close and personal to get a kill. This also pairs extremely well with the Stronghold exotic Titan gauntlets, turning players basically into an infinite sword fighter.

Additional perks:

  • Tempered Edge
  • Heavy Guard

Here's the complete rundown of Xur's entire stock in Destiny 2 for December 6:

  • Lunafaction boots (Warlock boots) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Wormhusk Crown (Hunter helm) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Stronghold (Titan gauntlets) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Black Talon (Sword) - 29 Legendary Shards
  • Fated Engram - 97 Legendary Shards
  • Five of Swords Challenge Card

Destiny 2 Shadowkeep is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
