Destiny Xur Location Feb 27

With the onslaught of Destiny news hitting this past week, few would be blamed for feeling thrown for a loop. Game Informer’s cover story didn’t just share a little bit about the upcoming Taken King expansion, but practically blew the lid off the Destiny DLC’s biggest changes.

Nevertheless, we hope that Destiny players have recovered long enough to pop over to the Tower, because Xur has returned with some worthwhile goodies. But, first we must find him.

This week, Xur can be found in Tower North, on the balcony past The Speaker. When you spawn into the Tower make an immediate right and follow the path of stairs all the way down. From there you should enter a wide-open area with a gorgeous view of Earth, and dead ahead will be Xur.

Xur's Exotic Armor & Weapon Selection

We’ll admit that most of Xur’s gear is pretty forgettable, but the real gem of his selection is the Bones of Eao Hunter boots. This is the first time that Xur has sold the new House of Wolves exotic boots, and for many players these were the last exotic armor pieces that they needed to complete a full collection. It also doesn’t hurt that the Bones of Eao are pretty useful, offering Hunters a third jump on any subclass.

For his exotic weapon, Xur has The Last Word, which has become the legit PvP player’s weapon of choice – i.e. the one that players who criticize Thorn use. However, like Thorn, The Last Word has some overpowered qualities, including a glitch that delivers 111 HP of damage while aiming down the sights. Essentially, the glitch adds the perk for hip firing The Last Word to its ADS shots for random extra damage. Some call it ADS 111’s.

For a full rundown of Xur’s items and prices see the list below:

  • Eternal Warrior (Titan DLC Helmet) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Bones of Eao (Hunter DLC Boots) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Voidfang Vestments (Warlock Chest Piece) – 13 Strange Coins
  • The Last Word (Hand Cannon) – 23 Strange Coins
  • Exotic Shard – 7 Strange Coins
  • Exotic Chest Engram – 23 Motes of Light
Destiny - Last Word Hand Cannon

So, if you’re looking for a PvP hand cannon that can handle charging shotgunners and does well to compliment a sniper rifle, The Last Word will fit the bill nicely. It also looks pretty dang cool while firing.

Overall, it was not a bad week for Xur and not a bad week for Destiny in general. We learned a lot about The Taken King like how leveling will work and what year 2 will mean for old legendary weapons, and then Xur showed up with the last exotic armor piece he’d yet to sell. For Hunters especially, this was the perfect capper to the week.
