Coming off today's Bungie Weekly Update, in which the developer revealed plans to make the game's strikes easier, players were once again optimistic that this might be a big week for Destiny. Would this be the week that Xur finally has the rocket launcher we've all been waiting for?

First things first, Xur can be found in Tower north. Follow the pathway to your left once spawning into the HUB area, and Xur is in the far back against the railing. He's the hooded guy inconspicuously standing next to the gorgeous skyline.

Xur's Exotic Selection

The good news is that Xur does have a rocket launcher in his inventory, unfortunately it's not the one everyone wants. Rather, he has the Dragon's Breath DLC rocket launcher that, while cool in design, pales in comparison to the Gjallarhorn. Even the Hunger of Crota rocket launcher, which made our list of the top 10 guns in Destiny, is a far better option because of its tracking abilities. Still, if there were any who just picked up The Dark Below DLC, there's no excuse not to add this to the collection.

On the armor front, it's nothing too special, save for the Don't Touch Me Hunter gauntlets. With the Don't Touch Me's, players can run through The Abyss section of the Crota's End raid completely by themselves. Everytime they take damage, the Don't Touch Me gauntlets will activate invisibility and players will be able to slip away. Needless to say, these bright blue gauntlets come in handy.

Destiny Xur Exotic Selection April 3

The Glasshouse helmet for Titans is pretty useful for those who favor the Ward of Dawn super, but there are certainly better options available. And the Sunbreakers have now become a running joke among Warlocks, who have seen the gauntlets show up nearly every weekend since Destiny launched.

For a full rundown of Xur’s items and prices see the list below:

  • The Glasshouse (Titan DLC Helmet) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Don't Touch Me (Hunter DLC Gauntlets) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Sunbreakers (Warlock Gauntlets) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Dragon's Breath (DLC Rocket Launcher) – 17 Strange Coins
  • Exotic Shard – 7 Strange Coins
  • Exotic Chest Engram – 23 Motes of Light

Exotic Upgrades

If there are still a few Destiny players looking for some exotic upgrades we'd recommend the Apotheosis Veil and the Thunderlord. The Apotheosis Veil comes in handy during the final fight with Crota because it lets players regenerate health by picking up orbs and any time they use their Super. Thunderlord is just a beast of a heavy machine gun, capable of reducing Vault of Glass final boss Atheon to a pile of rubble in seconds.

Overall, not a great showing from Xur, except for Hunter players who hope to solo the Crota's End raid on hard. In fact, just this week saw the first such guardian complete the feat, proving that it is indeed possible. But, as we've mentioned, soloing Crota's End is only for the brave.
